LaSas offers our youth a beginning to adulthood whether they decide to go to college or to a technical schoool.

Both of my children attemd LaSAS. My son fit the mold of the typical nontraditional student. He had no plans to attend college. He excelled in welding. He attened LaSAS and graduated with welding certificatoins that helped him to get a job as a welder making $36.00 an hour. Not bad for a kid no one thought could succeed. My daughter also attends LaSAS she is planning on persuing a career as a pharmacist. She is an honor student and is able to excell academically due in a great part to the excellent teachers and curriculum at LaSAS.

This school began as one to create a learning environment for high at risk students, but not all students were. It offers an option for students who do not perform well in traditional method of instruction but do perform in a hands on instructional setting. Most of the students who enter the 8th grade have experienced learning frustrations because their learning style was not addressed in grades 1-7. The grades and skills are below grade level for many. Thus, the test scores for 8th graders will always be less than desired. However, by the time they reach the 10th grade state testing level, the scores reflect the tremendous work the teachers and students have achieved to improve the overall test scores. It's a great school with teachers who care.a school designed for students to 'live' with teachers who care. It is safe. What a pity the state department didn't showcase it!

I am no parent but, i was in the first graduating class of LaSAS. All I have to say is that if you know anything about Louisiana 75% of the time you career will have something to do with Ag. if it was not for this school I would have never finished high school. I curently have a job where i am making up to 8,000.00 a month and i am fresh out of high school Sr. 2005. this job doesn't envolve hard labor either. If your tired of jocks and groops in schools this is the place for you or your child.
