We have been apart of Gray's Creek Elementary for 2 years now. My daughter attended Pre-K and now K. We absolutely are impressed with the teachers, staff and administration. The teachers my daughter has had have been phenominal! My daughter absolutely loves coming to school and I know it is because she loves seeing all of the friendly faces. The principal cares for each and every student and it shows when you see her talking to them. I am very impressed that both the principal and the a. principal do duty! Thank you Gray's Creek for being a wonderful school!!!

We have been a part of the Gray's Creek family for 4 years and I have been completely impressed. I am in awe of the staff and administration and how invested they are in my child's success. As a parent, I feel blessed to have my child at such a great school. The administration and her teachers challenge her and have set high expectations. They have made the transition to Common Core seamless and stress free. I am especially excited about the emphasis that the principal places on developing the values of each child along with improving academic achievement. The programs that have been implemented are helping shape my child into a thoughtful and compassionate young lady. The addition of the buddy benches are evidence of the schools total investment in each child. ALL the staff (including the office staff) take exceptional care of my child and for that I feel honored to be a part of the Gray's Creek family. My only complaint is that my child will be going to junior high in a few years and I am certain that no other school will nurture her learning the way that Gray's Creek Elementary has.

Gray's Creek Elementary has been a part of our lives for 3 years now. I have 3 children who will all be attending at one time and I am so happy to have the opportunity to volunteer with such a great staff. The teachers are very eager to involve the parents and keep learning fun!! My children are excited to attend and actually enjoy going each day!

We have one child that started at GCE when it first opened its doors. He loved going to school every day and was sad when it was time to move on to junior high. Our second child is currently enrolled and our youngest will begin in 2 years. The teachers at GCE are loving, creative, and motivational--we have loved each and every one. We have also been very impressed with the leadership--they are involved and obviously care about each individual child. We love Gray's Creek Elementary!

FRONT OFFICE STAFF is rude. I have two children at this school and they both complain about how the Physical Education teachers treat them. Yelling & no patience for the children! I hope you do not need help in the front office, because you will get none! Front office staff does not acknowledge you at all. Principal does not address the front office staff issue! If you have a 2nd option, do not send your child(ren) to this school simply because of the staff!

I have to agree..The staff in the front office is very rude. When I come to check my daughter out, they don't acknowledge me at all. I just sign the clip board and step to the side without so much as a greeting. Then they continue there gossip...I'm glad this is my childs last year here.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program for the 21st Century (LEAP 21) to assess students in grades 4 and 8 in math, English language arts, science and social studies. The LEAP 21 is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The goal is for all students to score at or above basic on the test.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
