We have just moved to DeRidder, and I couldn't be more pleased with Pine Wood Elem. His teacher has gone out of her way to make sure that he was academically where he needed to be the first few weeks of school, and assigns new students a playground buddy at the beginning of the year to help them adjust and make friends. This school is also very active in the community, and my children have been able to attend the fair this fall on field trips as well as enter their artwork in exhibits and help with the parade float. The school has fun extracurricular activities (science adventureres is my sons favorite) and this school still has music and physical education programs!! The reading program is excellent, and parents are encouraged to be involved in all activities. The P.E. dept. has recently sponsored a 1 mile fun run which raised moneyf
Not a good school for your children, my daughter has been neglected her first 4 weeks of school, her grades are bad, and I don't see the teacher trying to help the situation while I am.
