SCB is a small, tight knit community catholic school, where parents are very involved both directly through volunteering and with a strong PTO, this is our 4th year in the school with 2 kids and we love it. The kids are happy, love the school and are academically very well prepared. The teachers are very involved, professional and communicate well with the parents. The new principal is excellent and has introduced a lot of positive changes, moving the school forward. More extracurricular activities in arts, music, etc. would be nice but its a small school with limited resources; but with the new leadership we know they are coming soon. If you want to give your kids a solid catholic education, this is it.
The school is still great because of the teachers that get paid little but are devoted to their students. Unlike the previous post it has changed. The new principal is making so many changes in her first year. I can't imagine how it will be next year! There is no discipline in effect, especially when some middle school teachers play around with them they do whatever they want. Some parents walk around everyone like they own the school, def a HUGE open door policy. My child tells me how they are always in the halls and passing by the classes. Yes, schools need volunteers but that's it. Great extra curricular for kids, but they should off foreign language starting at a younger grade
St Charles offers the highest quality of academic programs. Student scores reflect the quality of education received. Parent involvement is encourged and about 90%. The school has a band, offers art classes and has a few sport teams.
