We are so proud to be part of the SCB family and find that our children are blossoming educationally, spiritually, and personally. They are being challenged not only academically but spiritually and ethically. SCB always has such outstanding things going on, whether it's academic, service, or faith related. SCB is truly a wonderful place, and we are blessed to be a part of the SCB family.

We are very proud of our school. The teachers and students love to learn here and the principal knows every child by name. The faculty works together to implement a well articulated curriculum with weekly job-embedded staff development. Preschool through 3rd grade curriculum is very strong in foundational litercy skills that include emphasis on authentic literature, writing, and phonics. The math program emphasizes manipulatives for develop math concepts and problem solving strategies. Students who complete 8th grade here can earn up to 5 high school credits: Algebra I, English I, Spanish I, Physical Science, and Computer Literacy. St. Charles Borromeo is known for preparing strong students for Catholic high schools.

I was a member of the 2012 eighth grade class of this school. I had a wonderful experience here, it was not perfect, but perfection can not be known. The academics were great, I was able to take five courses that got me highschool credits that year, and that is a lot for an elementary school. There are many extra curricular activities to participate in, and I took advantage of that being on Academic teams, beta club, the new AMAZING drumline, and student council. My only complaints were a few of the middle school teachers, while it was great how friendly they were with us, they seemed to not want to discipline us, and that made us a rather unruly class. A couple of teachers practically disregarded the students unless they were one of their favorites, also known as the football players, cheerleaders, etc. However, I can not really complain about anything else, if you live in the St. Charles Parish area and are looking for a good private school, this is the place to be!

SCB is a small, tight knit community catholic school, where parents are very involved both directly through volunteering and with a strong PTO, this is our 4th year in the school with 2 kids and we love it. The kids are happy, love the school and are academically very well prepared. The teachers are very involved, professional and communicate well with the parents. The new principal is excellent and has introduced a lot of positive changes, moving the school forward. More extracurricular activities in arts, music, etc. would be nice but its a small school with limited resources; but with the new leadership we know they are coming soon. If you want to give your kids a solid catholic education, this is it.

The school is still great because of the teachers that get paid little but are devoted to their students. Unlike the previous post it has changed. The new principal is making so many changes in her first year. I can't imagine how it will be next year! There is no discipline in effect, especially when some middle school teachers play around with them they do whatever they want. Some parents walk around everyone like they own the school, def a HUGE open door policy. My child tells me how they are always in the halls and passing by the classes. Yes, schools need volunteers but that's it. Great extra curricular for kids, but they should off foreign language starting at a younger grade

St Charles offers the highest quality of academic programs. Student scores reflect the quality of education received. Parent involvement is encourged and about 90%. The school has a band, offers art classes and has a few sport teams.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
