This is the most country bumkin school I have ever seen. I went to another school in the parish through 10th grade which is widely considered the best. I moved to Evans to Finish 11th and 12th grade I can say the eduacation level was absolutley a joke. The people are the nicest in the world. No question it is a family environment and if you have a troubled child who just needs to graduate then this may be a good option. I didn't even go to many of my classes most of the time and still passed because I was a "good kid" and very smart. Don't send your children here if you want a successful college career to be in they're future. Trust me. Send them to Anacoco.. but Anacoco is very challenging. Your child will learn though. I fully expect some of the Alumni to post on here that I am bashing the school etc but that is not the case at all. good people like I said... but from someone who attended 3 schools in the Parish (Anacoco, Leesville, and Evans) Anacoco is night and day better than both. Leesville is not much better than Evans but Evans is bottom of the barrel education wise.

I graduated from evans a few years ago & can honestly say without a doubt that evans high school holds some of the best memories that i ever had growing up. I had a blast, loved my teachers, and most of all i loved the fact that it was a small school. Evans is much more than just a school, it is more like your second home. As cheesy as it sounds it is absolutely true. My 4 year old will be starting school there in about a month in a half and i am not worried at all i am anxious to watch him as he experiences all that me and his dad had there. Thanks to all!

My children attended Evans for a short time (Nov 06-May 06)because we lost our home in Deweyville due to Hurricane Rita. The faculty and students made my children feel welcome from day one. That says alot about the people in this school system. My children loved everything about the school. The only flaw was no band for my daughter but one of her teachers allowed her to play her trumpet for the students in her class---she didn't need to be in band at that point --she was made to feel very special. My son excelled in reading and loved his teacher. We have moved back home now and I am very thankful for the experience they had from the fine people at Evans High School! Three cheers for a wonderful school.

I attended Evans 13 years and i can honestly say that it was an ok experience. The fact that there was fewer students helped with one on one time with the teachers. However i dont fill they taught us on the level most schools were learning. When i graduated i felt i was at a disadvantage going to college because i did not learn all that i felt i needed to. The only thing I fill evans gave to me was a since of family. When you are a student of teacher there you are family. I would never send my child there.

As a graduate of Evans High School, I can say with utmost assuredness that there was no better place that I could have gone to school. The small number of students allows for more one-on-one teacher/student interaction. This provides a much greater ability to learn than most larger schools. In addition to this, there has always been a focus on striving to attain the highest standards possible. As far as extra-curricular activities go, the school works hard to encourage and support its students and athletes in whatever they choose to participate in- FFA,FBLA,Science Fairs, 4-H, athletics, and much more. It was always a place where everyone seemed more like a family than a collection of students. Most of my fondest memories are tied to Evans High School in one way or other. There is absolutely no where that I would recomend more highly than this.

I went to Evans my entire school days. Evans school was my home away from home. I wish I was still in school, the teachers are fantastic. They treat you as you were one of their own.I can truly say I loved school because of my teachers. I was pregnant my senior year and the teachers encouraged me to stay with it an finish. I can say I was part of the class of 2001 that graduated.Evans School is very involved with every child and family. Well, if you attend Evans you are family. Thank You Evans for the best 13 years of my life, Permilia(Phillips)Williams
