We have become very disappointed in this school and today I withdrew my children from BGS.We chose this school at the end of summer because of the wonderful staff and relaxed atmosphere. Well a month after paying all the fees and 2 mths of tuition, not only did the principal & assistant principal retire, they also raised tuition. We then developed uneasiness and it has become worse because of the school being money hungry every day. Also know that they require each parent to work a 5 hour fair shift or pay a $150 fine. 7th and up also have a shift. Well since myhusband works in the Gulf and I was unable to work a 10 hr shift( had to cover his ) and living 25 miles away could not bring son for his , I now can't get my kids records until fine is paid. We were fooled into registering and then constantly being forced to work or pay, sell tickets or buy them. Clearly it's all about money to the head people. Oh , I almost forgot we just paid $225 ($75 per child) for technology fees, yet my children never used their computers. We have been in school 3 mths and pd with fees & tuition around $4500 and yet they WON'T waive fair fees.If you can overlook this, wonderful teachers!!Pack lunch !

Our child went to BGS for a few years and we felt that BGS was all about sports, cliques, and money, not education. This is why we took our child out of BGS. It is a shame that a handful of parents walk around BGS like they own the school b/c they are in the BGS clique. We all pay our tuition and fees, so we should all have the same opportunities, not just the ones that are in the BGS clique. The only thing that I can say about BGS is that they don't bother the students about petty things and that the students are relaxed and not stressed.

My child was going to another school when she was being mistreated and the Bowling Green School family welcomed us with open arms. My child was really scared about going to another school and the children at Bowing Green were really great to her and she loves school again, she has made many friends. The kids are well behaved. The teachers at the school are so into helping your child and making sure your child gets whatever it is they need to know for any test, they are so involved. This is our second year to be at Bowling Green, my daughter is in the 4th grade and she has learned so much. My son is only 3 and he has been on the waiting list since we have been there I can't wait till he starts school. We love being a part of the Bowling Green Family.

My children have attended since moving here shortly after hurricane Katrina. I only rated this school average because when you balance out the education (which for the most part is great) with the attitude and behavior of the faculty/staff and other students that is the best I can offer. I have never in my entire life, ever, been subjected to such discrimation as my childen and I have since our first day at Bowling Green. My children have been made fun of, put down and been bullied because of where we are from. This behavior has been shared equally between the staff and students. The very few who have not supported this treatment are too scared to stand up against it for the fear of retribution. I couldn't and wouldn't recommend this school to anyone and just wish I had a better alternative.

Each Wednesday, our students gather for a time of devotion. This is so important, especially during a time when Christianity is being tossed out of so many schools. One of our coaches said it best, when he told our football team this: There are 3 things that need to be your top priority...they are #3..your grades, #2..your family, and #1..God. Generally speaking, these are some of the most well mannered kids that I know, and I'm proud that my children have such a positive environment in which to attain an education.

I was an Air Force MP staying at the BG school for two weeks in Sept. of 2005 for Katrina relief and security details. The staff were very kind and friendly. The students were exceptionally respectful as well as friendly to us. The 193rd Special Operations Wing in Harrisburg, Pa. will not soon forget you wonderful people!

'My children have been attending Bowling Green since Pre-K (I have 3 in school)--The A-Bekka program teaches the childred phonics(in Pre-K)and learn to read in Pre-K! My child(going into the 6th grade) had the A-Bekka math course and was learning what other students in other schools was learning in the 7th and 8th grade...This program is excellent and is a Christian based program.. Also this year, the 4th graders took the LEAP test and all passed without preparing for the test, whereas other schools had a 25% failure rate and they prepared for this test most of the year. Because of this program, we have had to divide many of the lower grades because of admission increasing, and we have students on the waiting list...Bowling Green is really stressing academics...It's a great school!

The elementary grades from pre-k up to about 4th grade are using the A-Bekka program to teach reading and it is wonderful! The pre-k is reading! Phonics is the way to go!
