South Lafourche High School strives to help all students succeed academically. Their ACT and GEE test scores are way above state averages. The administration and teachers try to incorporate new strategies and high school redesign reforms to keep up with our ever changing technological society. SLHS is one of the best schools in the area.

Fabulous school with excellent teachers. The biology and chemistry department have lacked since the leaving of Dr. Kieff, Mr. Becnel, and Mrs. Bowman. Hopefully we will find new replacements to make it a five star school!

This school is on the front lines in high school reform. Though state and national criteria keeps changing the ways a school is mesured, this school try to keep up to date and truly cares about the success of the child. I am a proud graduate and teacher of this school!

South Lafourche used to be a great school, but it has changed when it began playing the LEAP, GEE game. The state standards have played havoc with classroom teaching, and the admin. is 100% behind the stupidity. Also, there is a nonchalant attitude in the halls and classrooms. It's not what it used to be.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Louisiana used the End-Of-Course (EOC) tests to test grade high school students in English 2, biology 1, algebra 1 and geometry. The EOC is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The EOC is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above basic on the test.
