Great school! My child has a vision disability and they really went the extra mile for him! Amazing teachers! Looking forward to another wonderful school year at central primary !
i would reccomend anybody to this school. I cant get my child away from this school fast enough. The bullying over at that school is wrong. Nothing is done about it no kind of disicpline. No help for the kids especially kids with a learning disabilitie. im very happy were moving back to livingston for my kids to go back to school there.
i love central nobody should have anything against this school! my children have made nothing but a perfect g.p.a of 4.0! love the teachers and staff!
I have two children that attend Central. We are military and have moved several times. The faculty at Central made this move one of the easiest. They are all very helpful and keep an open line of communication. We have been here for over a year now and do not want to leave. One of the best schools my children have been enrolled in.
Rude, Disrespectful, inconsistent are just a few that come to mind when dealing with both the teachers and administration at Central. Almost every teacher has an attitude as if they have something better to do than be a teacher. All of my kids attended Central and I can honestly say over the last 3-4 years the school has really gone down hill. They are more worried about shirts tucked in than educating and mentoring the children. When you enter the office area for any reason you are treated as very coldy by all. Glad my kids are no longer at Central
Some teachers are wonderful, and some need to be taught a lesson on patience. Teachers know that all children are not the same, but should be treated the same. They also have some racial issues that need to be dismissed
I am a happy parent of a 1st grader that attends this school. I am very informed about what they are learning, parent/teacher communication is great, and as long as i am in ascension my child will be a student there.
Both my children have been at this school for years and I can say some of the teachers are highly skilled and some are not. When I have had small problems and attempted to speak to the principal, most of time she quickly dismisses you, instead of looking into what's really going on.I feel this school has a huge lack of compassion for the children.I'll say my children's experience has been poor -fair at best.We are very involved in our childrens homework, projects, sports. But no longer will we go to mpacts meeting(aka pto)These meetings were designed for a forum for parents but when you go it is still controlled by the principal. There is a problem with bulling at this school.
I have never heard of a school like this one. They worry about what is being worn and the sports at the school. They dont care about the kids at this school.
I'm a Hurricane Katrina evacuee & placed my children, 9 and 5 yrs old, at Central based on the recommendation of family members. During the 2nd week of school my daughter was kicked several times. When I arrived at school, I was received with a lukewarm reception from an office staffer. When I spoke to the P.E. teacher on duty at the time of the incident, I, immediately understood why this kind of behavior is not taken seriously. She was complacent & almost sympathetic towards the bully. Not sure what remedy was taken due to privacy issues. Last week, while my 5 year old & his female friend walked along the grass, a student yanked him to the ground & hit his friend in the chest. Also, last week, my daughter came home upset because the same student hit her again...during P.E.! Our old school had zero tolerance. I am amazed.
I am very pleased with this school. I belive each child is encouraged by the teacher to do the best they can. They are very organized, involved and do the best they can for the children. They work as a team and one on one if needed. I am very well informed of everything that goes on at this school. I do plan on staying in this school district until my girls move on to high school.
I love Central Elementary. I have a second grader this year and a first grader. When my daughter was in first grade last year she learned how to read with a breeze. I loved her teacher also. The teachers I have met this year seem really good. I always know every week how my kids are doing.
I have had a lukewarm experience, thus far. It depends on the grade my child is in on whether he/she receives an adequate education. This past school year (5th grade) I was not impressed with his/her progress. At times the faculty and staff are complacent when it comes to bullying, which fosters an atmosphere of fear and dread for the student being bullied. I find some of the teachers are in desperate need of training to keep up-to-date on technology. The layered curriculum concept is being abused. I find that it does not actually teach children a concept but it is used as a way to accumlulate needed grades. I also have had the experience that children who act up seem to have more priviledges than the students who display respect and responsibility. Some teachers and staff need to dress appropriately when interaticing with our children.
My child received an inferior education and was in constant danger from bullies. She was attacked numerous times at school and on the bus. None of these situations were handled satisfactorily by those in charge.
My children have been attending Central since it's opening. We, as parents, are always well informed of our children's progress. The teachers are very dedicated to the students. The children's achievements are fully recognized, which in turn makes them want to do so much more. I can not say enough about how I appreciate every teacher my children have come in contact with. I am pleased to know that such quality is available to my children now and for the years to come.
This school is the worst in the district. My fellow students and I should not have to eat cold food, and food from previous days.
My children have attended Central Elementary for a combined total of six years. I have been extremely pleased with the schools progress in all areas. The faculty and staff at Central are both understanding and encouraging to each child on an individual basis. Programs that encourage children to read at a higher level are in place and used on a daily basis. The extended help in speech and other needed areas are wonderful tools used by wonderful people. My children have attended private school in Ascension Parish, and I feel Central far exceeds the care, attention, and learning environment of the private school system. Physical activity is also a huge part of Central. The children, of all ages, are encouraged to be active throughout the day, which encourages healthy children who are better prepared to learn. This school is a winner!
