My 2 daughters both went to Grand Isle School, My oldest Shawn Mallahan graduated in 2000, played basketball and softball>My daughter Carrie also played both sports till I moved her to Metairie in 2001. Grand Isle will always be close to their hearts and mine. The had a great coach and teacher Miss Racheal Vaughn who also was Coach of the year many times. So if there is no girls sports maybe its the students that need to change that !!!

This school rocks! you learn a lot! make good friends and learn responsibilties! even though it is small, it betters your learning experience and lessens the drama. The athletics help the students to socialize a lot more because of the kindness everyone shows here. Iwould recommend anyone to go to this school. They will never want to leave once they start! so come and see for yourself. If i am wrong...Please correct me. But i went to this school myself for about 9 years almost, so i think you can trust my words!

This school is considered to be in a remote area. The parish concentrates more on tourist value of this area than it does on the actual residents here, including our children. There are no sports for the female children to participate in and very little in the way of providing the encouragement our children need in order to plan a future.
