Gretna No. 2 Academy for Advanced Studies

Gretna no.2 academy of advanced studies is absolutely amazing! This is my sons first school year he is a pre-k student, since being at gretna no. 2 academy he has learned to read, his writing skill are excellent, he can count by two's, five's, and ten's, he has an amazing bond with his 2 wonderful teachers Michelle and Margret, and he has blossomed into a social butterfly! GO GATORS!!!!!!!

I was very disappointed with this school. It did not live up to the reputation it has. I think people like this school because some affluent families send their children there. The principal is extremely unprofessional.

Gretna #2 Academy is a God sent to my child and our whloe family. We have enjoyed the 2 years that we have been with Gretna. They offer so much exposure that we may not be able to introduce our kids to due to being working parents. Thank you to the entire staff!!!

I think the review posted on July 5,2007 is wrong. This school changed my daughter's grades to 100% A. If you want your child to suceed you should encourgage him every day so he could feel nurished and loved and tell him school is great.

Gretna No. 2 Academy has been an eye opening experience for our family. It is a public school and they care. From the administration, teachers and students- we are so happy to be involved in this wonderful elementary public school

My son has been at this school since it opened. He loves it and so do we. I've seen only two negative reviews. Mrs. Wilty and teachers go out of their way to commnicate with students and parents if there is a problem. I can say this from my dealings with any problems we have had. SCHOOL GETS AN A+

When my daughter was accepted into the school, I was thrilled. With high expectations of the school, which has not lived up to my expectations. I feel as if you are not in the 'clique', some of the teachers treat you different. Some of the teachers are extremely sarcastic, and in some instances I feel as if it was inappropriate. They also can be unempathetic to the students such as telling them to shut up, etc........The teachers seem to feel as if the students are bad. They have no idea of the wonderful students they do teach and the great opportunity they have been given to teach at this magnet school.

Both of my children are in their second year at Gretna #2 Academy and love it. They are excited about what they are learning because the lessons are well presented and have projects/activities to help make them interesting. I like the fact that the students are taught how to problem solve in lieu of memorize. As a plus to the academic advantages, the faculty and parent organizations are both strong, creating a family like community for all. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

I have attended this school since it has open.The electives are awsome. The work is intresting and is fun to do. It may seem hard but if you think it wont be at all.

The school is great. It is so much fun. We have many great electives and funraisers. I've been at this school for two years. The Childcare is great. I would recommond going to this school. ( Next year the school will have pre-k - 4.

I absolutely love Gretna #2. My child is being challenged and given assignments that inspire my son to think out of the box. Everyone at the school is like a close knit family and involved in school activities. It is nice having a school where my child can be surrounded by peers on his academic level and parents and teacher who really care about the students.

Our daughter started Gretna No.2 last year in 4th grade. It was the best move we made for her. She hated school before attending Gretna and now she loves school and could not wait for the summer to be over. Teachers and Principal have been excellent.Gretna Gators are the best.

We love Gretna Academy. Our children are thriving. The project based learning is not fo reveyone and it requires self-motivation on the part of the students - but for our children it is a perfect fit! We love the faculty and staff, the challenging curriculum and the aprent involvemnet. It is truly a top notch school!
