Haughton High School

This school is a small town school and it shows in every aspect. There are few elective choices and even less for high achieving students. Staff members do not return phone messages and communication from the administration is very limited. Compared to the school we moved from this one is far behind and my children are forced to sit throught classes they have already had in middle school that has just recently become part of the required curriculum. The lack of elective choices has students sitting in Art because that is their only choice, whther they want it or not. The only language offered is Spanish and only the minimum classes required by the TOPS program. Anyone wanting to continue is out of luck! In today's economy and challenging job market our children has a tough future ahead. Offering the bare minimum in curriculum is not going to get them out of the trailer park!!!!

True, this is an awesome school and it does offer many opportunities and programs for its students. However mostly these opportunities don't go to the 'not-white' kids. Not trying to make it a race thing. Haughton may not be racist, but it s not very fair.

Haughton High is a very well rounded school. It has tons of clubs and sports for students to be invovled with. It also has many rules that are very well followed and enforced by faculty. I attended Haughton High for 2 years and am now a junior at another school. i will be returning to Haughton for my senior year because the school i attend now fails in comparrison to the wonderful Haughton High.

I graduated from this school. I really enjoyed it and felt that the school had a good bit to offer. The English department is amazing. The teachers such as Mr. Hayden, Mrs. Goslin, and Ms. Allison have done wonders for their students. Them alone have raised English ACT scores for me. I really appreciate them. I also felt that the extra-curricular activities and clubs were amazing. You had an opportunity to obtain a great education and join many clubs! The science department could do a little better, but Mrs. Phillips was an amazing teacher. The math department was fairly good as well! Mr. Thomas has to be the best math teacher. I would recommend it to everyone!

I am a freshman at Haughton this year and I love it! I have great teachers that actually make learning fun. They have expanded some of the campus and put a new math and science building in. Even though its been about a week since I started here all I can say is that this is a great school. :]

haugton High School is a great school to go t o..you can make plenty of friends in no time.The teachers are awesome they will help with anything you need help with. ALso, the extracurricular activities are a+. i have never been to a school with so much to do .

I loved my time at Haughton High and love the fact that it was not too big and not too small. I am currently an elementary school teacher and I learned numerous things from the great teachers at Haughton. They were all very caring and dedicated to student learning. Teachers were only strict when needed and it was usually for the benefit of the student or school. Even though I live in a different state now, my loyalty remains at Haughton High School! :)

This school is a 'good ol school'. Its all about who you know. Most of the teachers grew up in Haughton and same goes for the principal. If you are not the best athlete in the sport that you are in then you shall get noting out of Haughton High School. The teachers are VERY lazy. There are only a few great teachers at Haughton High including Mr. Hayden. Tough love should be his motto. Hes awesome.....
