Riverdale Middle School

Riverdale Middle is a great school. I have had three children attend the school and could not have been more pleased. The IBO program provides outstanding opportunities for students to learn and develop. Other parents I have spoken to feel that the school is too strict, but I am grateful to have a public school that has as high a standard for behavior as it has for academics. The students are required to take courses each year in technology, art, and foreign language in conjunction with the standard curriculum that other middle schools offer. The atmosphere of the school has changed a great deal over the past few years with the establishment of the International Baccalaureate Program. If you are shopping around for a great school where your child will receive an excellent education, then you need to visit this school!

Riverdale Middle School in Jefferson LA is an absolutely awesome school. Riverdale Middle is an International Baccaulaureate School - in fact the only middle school on the East BAnk with that honor. The faculty and staff at the school are extremely caring and do their best to help each and every child reach his/her potential. It is the only middle school I know of that offers foreign language, piano, quilting, art, computer classes as electives to middle school students. The school is strict in that it expects the best out of each student. Following rules is what people should do, rather than a school having chaos. Any parent who has not visited RMS should schedule a tour to see this school during the school day. There is no screaming at students. It has to be the safest best run school anywhere. i go to riverdale middle school. it is a wonderfull school. i love it it has so much to offer. so if youre putting your child in a school but youre still looking riverdlae middle school should be your first choice.

Riverdale Middle School is one of the most likely public school were kids will be influenced to suceed in life. The faculy members and staff are greatly miasmatic, and are very caring and concerned. Though they are strict, they do this for our own well-being. I will admit that they may be a little too strict, but that is only when they are worried about the student and the other pupils. The students are very excepting, and are kind to everyone. Not one student is put down there. Only on rare occasions do they get into small fights, but that happens at every school you go to. Riverdale gives the same education as one of the most finest private schools in the state, if not, more. The parents get very involved and they are a great help to the school. I have always been happy with Riverdale Middle School.

Honestly, as a student, I believe Riverdale isn't up to the correct standards. Teachers seemed to have not much experience in discipline over their own classes. Discipline is high-priority around school, but the consequences are too strict. Also, what I've seen around the school, this policy of discipline is not working so well. Yet, most of my teachers are capable of giving knowledge to their student. During lunch, there is a sugar shack that is usually open every day, where they sell certain kinds of snacks (although limited). But if your child plans to eat lunch at shool, I recommend you to have him bring his own lunch. From my opinion, out of all the schools around, this school is not what I recommend, and I've experienced the reasons at the school myself. Although the teachers are capable of giving their students a chance to learn, discipline is either too little or too strict at times.

My child seems to like Riverdale Middle School alot. He seems to be adjusting well and the staff are very nice. I just wanted to give credit where credit is deserved. Riverdale Middle school seems to make a difference in many students lives.

My son just spent two of the worse years of his education at Riverdale Middle. The Principle did seem to care, however, there was not a lot he could do. The chaos in the school has taken over any ability to teaching, learning and education. It is simply a babysitting service to some of the worse kids in Jefferson Parish so that the normal students would have a chance to learn. I do hope they keep this school open however, so the same people do not follow us.

I went to Riverdale Middle for 3 years. The principal is wonderful, nice, and he loves to get involved with the kids and their activities. There are a lot of after school and during lunch activities for everyone to have something to be a part in. The teachers and faculty at Riverdale try their very best to help every student in classroom. The school runs on a block schedule so on Mondays there are 8 classes not counting homeroom. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have their first four classes and on Wednesday's and Friday's they have their last four classes. Six of these classes are the basic Math, English, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and P.E. But then the other 2 classes are electives. The parent involvement is pretty good with parents helping out with all of the activities Riverdale Middle has. The discipline is real good with a good balance school.

My child was an a-b student in k-5, but now my child isn't. The only class that my child really like was band. The band teacher is really graet with the kids. Thank you mr. G. Thank you riverdale for a bad year.

I am a new parent at Riverdale Middle School. My son, who has been on the honor roll since Kindergarten, was having a hard time adjusting to his new school. The principal met with us and had some very encouraging words for my son. I already have a good feeling about the school based on my meeting with the principal. He definitely cares about the success of our children. Thank you.

I think that riverdale is going downhill because they are to strict about small things but the very large things are ignored and the office just doesnt care.

I think that Riverdale Middle school is a very good school. It inspires me to work hard. The Quality of academic programs, Availability of music, art, sports, and other extracurricular activities, and the level of parent involvement is a great sucess. I think it is a wonderful school in my opinion. I think the faculty and staff is very caring and supportive. They are also very hard workers. I like this school.

This was a great school til the past and present principal took over they are to strict on some thing and not hard on this that count.There is very little talking to the office staff because they don't really care to hear a parents opinion on what is going on in the school.I feel when you are focasing on the issue of how short a pair of socks are or what color a pair of tennis shoes are this is just way to much and no concren of the school.The school needs to focas on education and safety of our children and no worry about the no important this such as clothes.The teachers are great but it is the office staff that needs to be worked on and weeded out.If this was a milatary school then this would be a great school.
