My childrens' school goes above and beyond to meet the needs of all the children at the school. I have two gifted children, one of whom also has a learning disability, dyslexia. The school has one of its' favorite teachers working with the children who need extra help in a small cluster group and yet this same child is allowed to go to gifted programing in order to feel 'smart', which he is. The school seem to understand the key factor in helping ALL children is to build their self-esteem and confidence in order to be successful. The schools' outlook is to allow all the children to experience every imaginable extra- curricular activity in the hopes that the child will find their own niche. This confidence building allows these kids to tryout for chess, singing solo, newspaper-writing, cheerleading, football etc. I'm sure that all schools strive to accomplish this, it's just sheer joy to see it in action as a child's gifts are drawn out. The schools' staff is extremely dedicated and so many of the teachers wear 'different hats' to become coaches, leaders, middle school dance chaperones and mentors. The principal works tirelessly to write grants in order to secure money so that our school can have the latest, greatest equipment to help our children. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School is the best!

I absolutely feel that this is the best school in SWLA. They offer such great opoportunties for kids. The class sizes are small so each child gets an opportunity to participate in the classroom. The academics are second to none. My children are happy everyday to go to school. The teachers are so nuturing and teach them way more than just academics. They teach them how to be a good person. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a family environment where you will be welcomed to your child's classroom at any time!

I love EDS! It has fun activities for children of all ages. Each year more and more students come and go. From tutoring, sports, hands-on activities, field trips, and summer programs, EDS is a great private school to send your children. Just ask me! I joined on in the experience. Even take it from a 11 year old!

I love EDS. My son is in Pre K 4 there and they do so many fun activities. He is learning so much and looks forward to going everyday. The school is like our family.

EDS is an oasis in an academic desert. Classes are small, there is much attention to academic excellence, character building, community service, hands-on activities and good old fashioned caring for each other. Tuition is higher than other area schools but the value for the educational dollar makes EDS a bargain. The true value comes after a student graduates and goes to high school and college. The attention to academic detail allows EDS students to go nearly anywhere they choose for boarding schools, selective summer programs etc. It's a great place for children to learn and parents to know one another and be active in their children's lives.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
