As a former student and future teacher, I would have to strongly suggest that the parent that had the comment about the principal backing it's teachers needs to reconsider that statement. As an adult and employee with several years of college and experience behinde me I would EXPECT that as the TEACHER my word or decisions would not be second guessed (over a young teen) regardless of the situation at hand. I also beleive that they have tried to close this school, but the African American community and surrounding communities fought strongly against that decision.

teachers at this school do not follow parish policy. they eat and drink in class. they have objects in their desks that can be considered weapons. their cell phones are on and ring during class time. resource students do not receive services as per their IEP. the teachers tend to tear down the self esteem of the students who attend this school. behavior and discipline are great problems. the principle tends to back the teachers without benefit of doubt for the student. this school either needs to be closed or new teachers need to be brought in.
