Both my children are recent graduates of Pontchartrain Elementary. I could not have been more pleased with the education and experiences they received while there. The school offers a wide range of opportunities for all children. As a teacher myself, I know the teachers are dedicated, well educated, and committed to making the school the finest in the state. As a PTA volunteer, I was welcomed by the teachers as well as the administration to become part of the school community. Test scores, happy parents, and successful children all agree that Pontchartrain Elementary deserves the terrific reputation it has earned.

My daughter is in third grade and there is a big leap from second to third. The teachers are well qualified and it shows in their dedication and commitment to the students and the school. My husband and I feel that she is well prepared to take the I-Leap. The administration is excellent and you get what you put into knowing them by volunteering and keeping informed. We have been very pleased. -

This is a great school! My daughter is attending kindergarten, and she loves it. Her teacher is excellent. She is learning a lot. Dr. Wiseman is a great principal and seems highly motivated. I appreciate her involvement and enthusiasm. The PTA is incredibly organized and there is a lot of parent involvement. Definitely move to this district.

Both of my children attend Pontchartrain Elementary and I love the school just as much as they do. The principal is the best. I would recommend this school as one of the top schools in the state of Louisiana. If you plan to move the the northshore, make sure you are in the district of Pontchartrain Elementary. You will not be sorry. They have taught my children so many wonderful things. They have taught my children sign language for the song 'what a wonderful world'.

I am thrilled with the quality of education my children are receiving at Pontchartrain. My daughter is in third grade and my son in kindergarten. Both have highly qualified and motivated teachers. Pontchartrain is a large school with close to 600 students. It doens't seem big. Everything is well organized. My children want to go to school. They are thriving. What more could a parent ask for.

Both of my children attended Pontchartrain. The teachers for the most part were very good. The principals have no personality at all. Some times they do not even speak to you if you are in the halls. I believe that Dr. Wiseman needs to retire and bring in a friendly face, that will put smiles to this school.

This is my sons 5th year at this school and we have both enjoyed every single year there. I have not had one complaint. The personalities of the teachers at this school are compassionate, understanding and always upbeat, which makes for a warm and nurturing environment for the students. Most importantly, the principle displays the same qualities as the teachers. There's no doubt they all enjoy what they do. The parent involvement is unlike any other school. There are physical education classes, as well as music classes. Pontchartrain Elementary has won so many awards in the past and as continued to do so, it blows any other school away.

The class size for K was 21 students. I believe this is true for grades 1-3 as well. I was disappointed in the lack of physical education and music classes; especially for this age group. Overall, the school is nice.

Ponchatrain Elementary is one of the finest schools in this parish. This is my childs third year at Pontchatrain and It can honestly be said that the teachers seem to stay consistant with the previous year teachings, in such a way that the children have an easy transition from one grade to the other. If you know someone moving to this parish this is the school for your child/children.
