My son was in Estelle, now in seventh, and my daughter just left Estelle, now in sixth. Estelle is the best elementary school in Jefferson Parish. The faculty and staff at Estelle are the best in the state. They make your children and yourself feel apart of the school. They listen to the input of parents and try to do there best to achieve that input. My kids have grown into very well rounded individuals. They came out of Estelle ready for middle school and ready for anything that may come their way.

My son is in his last year at Estelle. I am forever greatful for the love and support the teachers and staff have extended to our family. We are proud to say that we attend Estelle. My son feels secure as he takes his first steps into middle school.

My daughters have been attending Estelle since Kindergarten (they are now in 5th grade) and every year has been one of discovery and learning with the best teachers in the Jefferson Parish school system. The teachers have been and are innovative in the teaching methods to always make the learning experience fun. They make the kids want to learn and want to go to school. I wish this school went to 12th grade so we could always be in a wonderful, productive and caring environment. The school is definitely filled with dedicated and devoted teachers, administration, staff and volunteers!

My oldest son has been attending Estelle since Kindergarden (now in fourth) and my second son will be starting first grade this year and both cannot wait for the summer to end so they can go back to school! the teachers and staff are wonderful. Parental involvment is stressed as it is the only way to get your child the best education. It will be hard to find a middle school to match Estelle's excellence!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program for the 21st Century (LEAP 21) to assess students in grades 4 and 8 in math, English language arts, science and social studies. The LEAP 21 is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The goal is for all students to score at or above basic on the test.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
