I have children that have attended Marthaville School for years now since Kindergarten and they have all done exceptionally well. The Principal (Mr.Williams) is very attentive to all of their needs. The teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure that each needs were met for each individual child. This is a small quiet community with much involvement from the parents/guardians. I am happy that my children can learn in a close net enviroment with lots of love and attention. Its nice to walk into a school and know every teacher and each one knows your children even if they have never taught them.
Our child has gone to Marthaville since kindergarten and we have been very dissatisfied with the academics as well as the leadership of the school. They say, 'no child left behind', but this as long as the child can keep up. Other than occasional SAT team reviews there is no pro-active approach to assisting children who have difficulty learning. Teachers give the impression they have no time to discuss the child's needs with you. In the event that your child is not making good grades, you may not find out until interim or report cards. We will be happy to get away from Marthaville.
I graduated from Marthaville in 1974 and was on my way to better and bigger things I thought. Now I am back and have two children going to Marthaville and could not be happier. One is a special needs child with several different problems. The school at no time hesitated in getting help for my son and going above and beyond what was needed. I love it and my children will benefit more here than at some large school.Everyone knows your name and helps with any problem at all.
Marthaville School is a small rural school that has provided my four children with an exceptional academic foundation in the elementary and middle school grades. The academic program is rigorus and stimulating. Classes are small enough for individual attention and the faculty and staff go above and beyond the call of duty to help every child on every skill level. 4-H, Quiz Bowl, Drama Club, Student Council and other extra curricular programs are wonderful. The sports program is weak and there is no art or music offered due to lack of budeting from the district level. Parents seem to be very supportive of the school and active in the PTO organization and classroom programs and activities. The adminstrator is excellent and is involved in every aspect of the school.
