I have three children at St Clement (5th, 2nd, and PK4). I love the school and most of the teachers. Like any school, there are a few that are difficult to deal with, but overall they truly care about the students and they do a great job. I will agree that 2nd and 3rd grade can be a very difficult adjustment for the children, as the teachers are more demanding and the material is more difficult.

My child has attended SCR for 5 yrs. One of the 3rd grade teachers has a philosophy that if she explains something if a child asks her about it then "they must not of been paying attention" and she will tell them that and also tell them she will not go over it again. This same teacher yells at the kids and I have witnessed her snatching up a child by the arm. They have a problem with children bullying as well as teachers. When over half of the 3rd grade class(approximately 62 children) as being tutored at $30 hrly I would say there is a problem! The principle is leaving and lots of students this year. They are also using Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Why pay for CCSS when public school is doing it for free? There are other private(non-Catholic) schools that do not participate in CCSS.

We sent two children to St. Clement. One from K - 3rd grade, and a second from K-1st. We were disappointed with the declining standard of the education during that time. Our 3rd grader has not even been introduced to writing elements such as paragraphs. The second half of this year's 1st grade has slowed to a crawl with very little new material. We have other children in other schools, and the kids a St. Clement are way behind. Our 1st grader at St. Clement has a twin at another school, whose academic performance runs circles around what is presented to the students at St. Clement. I have found the leadership to be terrible, and the principal, after 4 years, does not even know my kids names. But, don't be late with a tuition payment, that's the only time that you get feedback from the school. We're going somewhere else next year.

St. Clement of Rome is a GREAT school! The academic curriculum is challenging to prepares the students academically for high school. The faith formation builds a strong foundation that will assist the students during their difficult years in high school and beyond. I have had two children (a girl and a boy) attend different high schools that I can confidently state their positive experiences at SCR have influenced and impacted their lives in a very positive direction! I have one child still at SCR and wouldn't send them to any other school! During the past year, SCR has focused on integrating 21st century technology into the classrooms with Promethean interactive whiteboards and student learning devices. Studies confirm these advanced educational technology tools with increased student learning! Students are engaged in learning and the teachers are provided with instantaneous assessment data to ensure that EACH student understands what they are being taught. These devices give the students the opportunity to learn by combing visual representation, sounds and the ability to interact with the teachers and fellow students. The principal and teachers are exceptional!

Great school. My two children both had great experiences at SCR (one boy and one girl) and it prepared them very well for high school. Great music and academic programs. Overall, I feel the school is quite well rounded and offers something for all. The parent club is really active and is very easy to be involved with. It's really a family atmosphere.

St. Clement of Rome is a wonderful academically challenging school. As a military family, we have moved around quite a bit and my daughter has had to adjust to many different schools. We have been at St. Clement for one year and my daughter absolutely loves it. She was made to feel welcome and settled right into the curriculum. The teachers and Administration have been very helpful in this adjustment process for my daughter. I would highly recommend St. Clement of Rome School. We are extremely pleased!!

My daughter is in Ms. Vanderbrooks class. I had a bad experience with a different Catholic school in Metairie and was very apprehensive. This was a great choice for us. The principle is amazing & all the teachers know me & my child. I wish I would of avoided the other school and come here first. The parents are very caring as well. Amazing school! I have a great relationship with her teachers and principle. We keep the lines of communication open and work together. That's exactly how it should be.

My evaluation of St.Clement of Rome is poor. The schools has no interpersonal relationship between teachers and parents.. The teachers do not suggest any resources that can be utilize for students if they are struggling in any course. It seems they are only concern in collecting money and pretty much you are a statistic in the school. I was extremely dissapointed...

For a Catholic school, SCR lacks a loving and caring environment. Principal is rude and discredits parents concerns.

school is way too strict and run more like a military than a regular catholic school. The prinicpal and teachers are very rude to the students and the parents have no recourse. There are many other good catholic schools in this city. keep looking!

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
