I went to school 3rd through high shcool and now my grandchildren are there. I have since moved to other parts of the country and see how education is supposed to be. This is a poor excuse for a school system. My interest was in the arts and they have absoloutly no outlet for that type of student. The are still in the middle ages when it comes to testings. Ivy league colleges are out of reach for anyone in La. Schools they are simply unprepared. The rest of the country is taking SAT's while La. lags behind still working on ACT's. We have advised our children to work in La. but please educate our grandchildren across the Texas line so they can at least have a chance at a proper education. They still are putting dyslexic student in with retarded children. how backward can you be and get federal funds.

My son was sent to this school as part of the Options program. Staff at this school worked hard to make sure that my son received special attention and instruction so that he could earn his G.E.D. Teachers at this school did not just wait for him to drop out. They helped to rebuild his self-esteem and they motivated him so that he did not give up. Although it took him more than one try, he received his G.E.D. (thanks to a teaching staff that cares.) Please continue to... Reach one, teach one!
