A combination of 'traditional' teaching methods and underfunding have led this sschool to become one that depends on testing scores for any kind of fame. Thee school offers a gifted and talented programme that is certainly better than the average programme. However, the basis of the teaching is no different from other shools and though most of the teachers are extremely qualified, they cling to outdated and compleetely unwarranted beliefs about authority and methods of discipline ranging from the 'do as your told because you're a child' mantra to the separation of the classes so much so that some students can't walk down a hall becausse they're not in thee correct grade to do so. It could do with much imporvement, but given the other choices in vicinity, it is certainly worth attending.

Great ways to motivate students to 'do their best'. Always strive to develop school spirit. Meet individual children's needs....teachers are tremedous!

My kids have really enjoyed their time at the Lab School, and they have performed well on state testing as a result. We especially loved my son's 8th grade language arts, social studies, and technology teacher.
