Another great year at Bethune and my daughter is on her way to her 3rd year there. What an awesome public school that is known to be Orleans Parish best kept secret. Mrs. Smith is an awesome principal as well as her teachers and staff. We will be equally excited for the up in coming school year as my son will be entering pre-k. Looking forward to another rewarding year. Thanks Mrs. Smith; Teachers and Staff for giving 100%!
I recently moved to the area and had to rush to find a new school for my daughter. Since it was May, I was left with very few options. I found Bethune and luckily they had an opening. This year has been a wonderful experience. Her teachers are great, the academics are outstanding, and the principal makes the children feel very loved.
My son is in his second year at Bethune, he transferred from Stuart Hall school for boys with is a high end expensive private school. I must admit I was originally concerned with the transfer but we had some issues at Stuart Hall regarding him not being treated fairly. He was accepted into Baby Ben and Bethune, after taking a tour of Bethune I called Baby Ben and cancelled the tour. Bethune is an excellent school with great leadtership, the teachers and administration all have the common goal of educating the kids and push them to the limit which I appreciate. My son loves his school and his teachers. He is challenged and has homework everyday and I can see his confidence and growth. There aren't many schools like this in New Orleans especially public. I am an advocate of edcuation & am blessed to be a part of Bethune
I AM A PROUD PARENT OF TWO BOY THAT ATTEND BETHUNE ELEMENTARY. THIS SCHOOL WAS NOT FIRST ON MY LIST OF SCHOOLS TO SEND MY CHILDREN TO. I AM SO GLAD THAT I CHOSE TO SEND THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING CHALLENGED ACADEMICALLY EVERYDAY. THE FACULTY AND STAFF ARE WONDERFUL AND THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU GO THERE FOR ANYTHING. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS SCHOOL IS THAT IT NEEDS TO GO AT LEAST TO THE EIGHTH GRADE CAUSE I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS SCHOOL AND I AM REALLY GOING TO MISS BETHUNE WHEN MY OLDEST SON GETS PROMOTED TO THE SEVENTH GRADE, WHICH HE HAS BEEN ON THE HONOR FOR THE WHOLE TIME HE HAS ATTENDED THIS SCHOOL.
I am a parent of two daughters that attend Bethune. This school is a very wonderful school. The leadership is awesome. The teachers are just the best. All of the faculty and staff make me feel welcome. I will be very sad when my daughters reach middle school because Bethune's faculty and staff are like family. This is the best school and I have a lot of experience because my daughters age ranges are 29 years to 7 years old.
My 2 daughters are students here. They are in the 1st and 4th grades. They are doing wonderfully and my 4th grader has been on the Principal's Honor Roll the entire year. I believe she will be prepared for the Leap in April from the great job they have done with her at this school. My rating for Bethune is a 10.
A number of the teachers at this school taught me in Elementary school and they were great them and are still great now. The staff takes proud in making sure all the students successful. Bethune has been labeled as 'New Orleans Best Kept Secret'. That is truly is.
When we first got to New Orleans, our heads were spinning and we had a hard time finding a school for our children to enroll. We visited three schools that had 'openings' and both the exterior and interior were immaculate and inviting. The office staff was friendly and helpful. Mrs. Smith, the principal made herself available immediately and we interact with her daily. Thus far, we are satisfied with our choice. The only real negatives is that the school does not have an active website and it can be difficult to communicate with some of the teachers.
I am proud to acknowledge that my child attend Bethune Elementary. She's been there since kindergarten and now have advanced to second grade. This is a impressive school with great teachers who are motivated, motivated down right motivated to help your child achieve beyond his/her potential learning level. I am sometimes surprise to see that my child is learning beyond her level. This is a literature and technology school with high academic standards. You can check us out because our test scores speaks for themselves. Bethune has a great program for children who are gifted and talented. Only one recommendation is for parents to get involved becuase the teachers there are defiantly teaching and giving there minds, spirits, and hearts to our children. BETHUNE, I LOVE THE WORK AND EFFORT YOU GIVE TO MY CHILD< KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK> !!!!!!!!!!!
I have a daughter who attends here and the curriculum is awesome. The staff has a family atmosphere and a lot of veteran teachers.
