I love Warren Easton because I graduated from Easton in 1986. The teachers and administrators prepared me for the next level of life. The school offered a rich multi-cultural foundation which I believe helped me to succeed in both my personal and professional life. I wanted my daughter to experience the greatness Warren Easton has to offer.

im a parent and i have two children that attend warren easton and this was one of the best things i could have ever done. the level and quality of the work is very challengeing for my kids. the teachers are friendly and makes me as a parent always feel welcome.the principle treats each and every student as her own and the kids respects her as well. there are many programs for the students and after school activities to get involved in. I love the school, staff, and everything they stand for. My daughters are getting the quality education they deserve.

Easton has history, tradition and spirit. The school is sought after by many parents and teachers. Teachers want to work here, parents want their kids to graduater from here. Students love it once they get here. We do some things in a traditional way and yet we have the latest technology available to students. There is something for everyone at Easton....students range in ability and can find a niche and happiness here.

I appreciate the education my son is receiving. And the fact that the teachers challenge him to achieve beyond his ability to reach his set goals.

I think Warren Eston is a wonderful school for my daughter and I am very pleased with the professional and harmonous environment there. I am pleased with the decision I made to return to new orleans after Katrina and that I selected this wonderful school. I am very pleased that I enrolled my child in the Warren Easton Family.

Warren Easton has prepared me for my future in so many ways. Teachers and Principle involvement with the students was great, they always were there when you needed them to be for whatever reason. They always told us to strive for what we wanted and Mr. Edwards always said, 'Govern yourselves accordingly.' I took heed into that....

My name is Mia Coleman (12) and I attended Warren Easton before the hurricane. I must say going to Warren Easton has prepared me for the real world. Not only did they teach us out of books but they taught us from their experiences in life. We did not get the watered down version of how life would be, most teachers made sure that we knew what was going on out there in the world and I appreciated them for that and I still do. Even though I am not getting to spend my senior year at Warren Easton I still keep the Easton spirit well and alive in my heart.

Warren Easton is a school that is like a family. Each year the new students buy into our program, because they follow the leadership of the upperclassmen, caring faculty and staff, and dynamic principal. Each year the eagles continue to soar. The extracurricular program offers a diverse selection of activities, with emphasis on building character, and encouraging good citizenship. Students are encouraged to give back to their community, and to excel academically. Parents are urged to support their children, as they strive for excellence at the oldest public high school in New Orleans. There may be damage to our first floor, but Easton will reopen, continuing to offer a well-rounded education to the students of New Orleans.

This is a great school! The principal and teachers exhibit great leadership skills, professionalism and an enormous amount of care for the students. If you are looking for a place to assist in providing morals for your student, this is the place to be. Parents, please make sure to stay involved in your teens education. Promote continued education/college...It will place your child two steps above the average.

I am a student of Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High school. Personally, I feel that Easton is a positive learning environment. We take pride in everything that we do because it is worth it. The rock of our school is our principal Mr. P. Edwards. Without him Easton would be nothing more than a school with students. With him Warren Easton is a learning institution where students come not only to learn but to reach their goals.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the End-Of-Course (EOC) tests to test grade high school students in English 2, English 3, biology 1, algebra 1 and geometry. The EOC is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The EOC is a high school graduation requirement.
