I love St. Mary's Academy. St. Mary's Academy has a great environment for young girls. The teachers respect the sentimental values of students and academic values also. I am a student at St. Mary's Academy and I am in 7th grade. Ever since middle school, I have been on the Honor Roll. The teachers will help when you have personal or academic questions. Councelors will help you when you need help with your study skills, personal problems, or problems with your friends. St. Mary's Academy has a sisterhood more than any other girls school. St. Mary's Academy cares about your education and pushes you to do good for your whole life. Once you meet your friends at St. Mary's Academy, they will be your friend for life I hope you choose St. Mary's Academy.

St. Mary's Academy is in the process of rebuilding as much of New Orleans is. It is a very hard job in very hard times. I would ask that the community, parents and students join in building back the school. God Bless SMA. I know it is a wonderful place to learn and grow having work there for 24 years.

SMA will and always be the top school for all girls in New Orleans. There's no other school for girls that [prepare] the girls for real life!

St. Mary's was and is one of the best high schools in New Orleans, LA. How do I know? I attended this school from 7th grade to 12th grade and enjoyed every minute, every hour, every day, and every year I was there. St. Mary's Academy is built upon traditions which shape their girls into motivated, community-service oriented individuals. There is not enough space here for be to boast about the many resources St. Mary's has drawn upon to give their students the best education any single institution can allow. My two older sisters graduated from there. I graduated from there, and so did my daughter in 2006. I have a fierce pride in this school. I would encourage anyone who has the chance to research the history of the school to do so, and from there visit New Orleans and take a tour of this wonderful school.

This school was tops in the past but after Hurricane Katrina they took in all kinds of children. When I selected SMA it was because of their great leadership & ability to educate. many of the students lack manners & discipline, some of the teacher are very unprofessional. I was seeking a school were the children had good up bringing good holy values, some up the things that come out of these girls & boys mouths are so disrespectful this may not have been a great year for the staff either, I hope when they move back to the old location that new & improve policies are in place and enforced. My children begged me not to move them again because they have been moved several time since the hurricane and don't want to keep making new friends so I hope they standards change.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
