We moved into the area three years ago and had a choice between Catholic-PC and the other school in town. Most people told us to enroll our children in the other school, even some CHS parents. Since we are Catholic we decided to try it. Now we are regretting the decision. If your children are not from the "established" families or are outstanding athletes--forget about it. CHS caters to those families. A 10th grader from the other school explained the writing method my freshmen at ULL is doing in his English class. He never heard of the technique at CHS. There are too many uncertified teachers also. Many of them have been teaching for years and have done little or nothing to get certification. The other school offers a variety of courses that challenge students. We enrolled our other children in that school for the coming year. The times I went to the school to talk to the teachers at CHS, I was treated as an outsider would be and promised things that were forgotten before I even left the building. The school is not what I expected it to be as a Catholic school. That's why we chose to leave this year.

I attended CHSPC for several years. The teachers weren't very helpful. The overall atmosphere at CHSPC is extremely negative.

The principal is very caring but the rest of the administration is lacking in disciplinary and sensitivity skills. They have coaches in some of the classrooms, which just does not work out right. The new art program, however, is highly successful, thanks to Ms. Laura's dedication and high qualifications. My biggest concern is with the attitudes of most football players.

I have 5 children there. To me it is the best school in the area that balances the offerings they have very well. None of my children play football. Soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and baseball are some of the sports my children have played. As a person who has gone to both public and private schools, I value a school that places Jesus in the middle of education, sports, and school activity. This school gets an 'A' from me. As far as parental involvment goes, you get what you put into it. If you don't put into it, others will. And they will get their way. As long as this school keeps on track with following Catholic teaching, prayer, good morals, and seeking of the will of God, it will continue to do well.

I have two graduates from CHSPC. The education they recieved is the best in Pointe Coupee. My daughter is now attending U.L.L. majoring in Business Administration and my son joined the Air Force. Neither of my children played football although we were very busy with softball, cheerleading, baseball and soccer, as well as 4-H and Beta Club. For a small school the number of extracurricular activities is outstanding. The school has many loyal supporters and cannot be matched for caring and concern by faculty and administration. As a financially challenged family, the sacrifices necessary to send my children to CHSPC were well worth it!

I have two children who have graduated from here. I am satisfied overall with the school and the education my kids have received. Both score above the national average on the ACT and other standardized tests. Unfortunately there are no music or art corses. Anything like that must be paid for by the parents as an after school activity. If your child is in football the sports program is fine. Any other sport is basicly ignored. The athletic director does not promote any sport except [the] football program, so if you have a child that participates in other sports, don't expect much. I believe the level of parental involvement needs to be improved. I guess the level of involvement is up to you.
