This school went from one of the worst to one of the best in Allen Parish. The quality of teacher and the decation the principle and staff have made has brought on many success and the focus has shifted to a better academically school with more discipline required from the staff and students

Oakdale is a beast! This high school needs improvment but its rather a good place to go.

This school is the worst school academically. The teachers don't even bother to teachtheir students in a correct manner. They also aren't giving fair grades. They would musch rather show favortism towards certain students and they are not fair towards those who strive for success. Please, think thrice before bothering to attend this school. Heaven knows it is the world's worst and you will be greatly dissappointed.

This school is the worst. There are very few things to do and even less involvement even if they were available. Football is the highlight of our school and then Basketball falls in next and then baseball, track, and then tennis receives the least attention of all. The schools only foreign language is Spanish. The only extracuricular activities are Band which has been in a decline rapidly and Newspaper; although I have to say that in the 2007 - 2008 school year I did not receive a single newspaper. The one good thing is that the Honors students are generally more recognized than other students; and the students hardly ever have fights. The school is one of the safest and most disciplined around. WIth the changing of principals this year we will have to see whether this changes or not

OHS once was exploding with spirit and extracurricular activities. Now we have football, which our school revolves around, other sports, which receive very little support, and clubs that aren't even the least bit active. There are no dances or out-of-school activites through OHS.

Oakdale had a great music program in the late 90's, but I have heard it has been declining ever since. The teachers are great, as well as the administration, however the extra-curricular programs are sub-par. The school's goal is education first, then football, and all others follow. Speaking as experienced, the parent involvement was great with the band program, however that too has declined. The parents were very seldom involved in the school's activities, outside of homecoming festivities. The general concern is that an overpopulation of african americans outweigh the student population and plenty of bias is shown to these students. There are many good kids in the program, but you have to 'expose them through the cracks' in order to formulate a true reading of this school. Overall, I give this school a C rating.
