I was a student there years ago and know the principal who is there now. My granddaughter is in kindergarten and I will monitor her progress closely. So far I am pleased.

Loved my kids going to this school. Like another poster, I orginally had some misgivings about my kids going there, due to some negative comments from parents whose kids go to the other elementary in PR. The teachers are wonderful, and all of them look out for ALL the kids. This is the first school I sent my children to who really appreciates parental involvement. The PTA is very involved, and you can find one of them there at almost all times. They have great field trips, and wonderful celebrations for the kids. My children went to Riverside as well, and I would recommend Sixth Ward over it :)

I really liked 6th ward the year my son attended. His teachers were very nice and had the children on a good set routine! The students themselves were even very nice and for the most part respectful. I was very upset to have to move my son due to the school not offering before or after school care. I wish they did because the school my son is at now does not even compare.

I was very apprehensive about my child going to this school. Boy, was completely wrong! The school is great, most of the teacher are extremely friendly. The PTA is very involved with the school. They are always hosting holiday/seasonal events, and even evening events that parents can come with their child too. There is a good amount of after-school activities for it being an elementary school. Also, the custodians and cafeteria employees are really nice and are great at what they do. Even my mother who is partial to another local school, couldn't get over how clean the school was. Not one piece of litter in sight! Bathrooms are always very clean. Even the food is well-balance. Not just starchy food! They get fresh veggies and fruit every day! I'm really impressed and feel horrible, I prejudged the school! I'm glad my daughter goes here!
