Our son was in a local catholic school for K-2 grade years. He was steadily falling behind. The faculty tried to help him although there is no way to slow down the pace for a struggling student in a classroom. Our son was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hearing impaired. His self esteem was taking such a blow, we decided reluctantly to enroll him for the third grade year at Raceland Upper Elem. The staff was absolutely wonderful. We were extremely nervous about the change since he had been raised in a very small atmosphere at St. Mary's School. His first year he had a mild adjustment issue, although his reading skills went from that of a K level to a second grade level. That in itself was wonderful. In 4th grade he passed his LEAP test with flying colors. Thanks to all there help and avenues to help.
