I wish we had enrolled our child here sooner than we did. His school year prior to enrolling at L. Leo was a wasted year in hindsight. The extra tutoring the school provides has been an incredible resource. The principal and teachers have worked so hard and have been so encouraging. They have also been amazingly accessible to help us address his school needs outside of the classroom.

All three of my kids have and still are attending this school. My daughter just finished 5th grade and has an 8th grade reading level. My other two boys are advanced reading as well. The librarian Mrs. Labarraque is awesome and the teachers are great. The principal is awesome. I also teach there as a substitute as well. Not only do i see things as a parent also as a teacher. The teachers are excellent and will do what they can for these students especially now that they are required to take the LEAP exam. There is onsight tutoring to help those children so that they can succeed. The curriculum is hands on and many of the kids love the science aspect of it. It is an awesome school. A little jewel in lafayette parish school system. Hopefully they see the same and take care of it.

As a person who has been in classrooms in seven of the area elementary schools, I want to let the populace know that L. Leo Judice is the top school in my eyes. Their Montessori training has decreased the yelling you see in many schools. The Montessori method shows increased civility and the teachers are consistantly at many optional inservice training seminars. These teachers want to and do make a difference in the lives of children. These teachers and Mrs. Landry are excited about new ways to teach. Check out this school and see what you may not see elsewhere---a principal visiting every classroom and actually talking to the kids!!!! She is the best!

On more than one occasssion I have confronted Rosemary Landry about her action and her lack of action concerning my child. Each time I asked her to explain what she intentended to do, she transformed into a babbling, stuttering liar. Rosemary Landry will say anything to avoid addressing a problem. Rosemary Landry will lie to you with a smile, she is not a good principal, she just appears to be. The school's secretary, Joyce Casey is the opposite of couretous and professional. If you child is an advanced learner or above average they may become bored. There are no programs at L. Leo Judice to embrace the advanced learner which seems contrary considering the addition of 3rd,4th,5th grade.

My son has gone to this school for K-2, and it is an excellent school. This school has great teachers, and a wonderful principle. My son is learning things in 2nd grade, that I didn't learn till middle or high school. He is so smart. He loves this school.I am so glad they are going up to 4th grade.

Very good school they have good programs. One issue I have is that when a child has difficulty with a certain subject the child (my child) is made to feel bad about themselves and incompetant. I feel the parents input is not welcomed, but rather dumped on. I rate this scools educating system and programs such as tutoring, etc., excellent, but as for the teacher in the classroom teaching and there is a child that does not get it I rate it very low. My child is made to feel so incompatent and embarrassed that she is shutting down and feels she can't do things right and is now afraid of humiliation.
