Spearsville School is a small town school offering class sizes small enough to provide students with a more personalized education. Sure, the school doesn't offer many of the extra activities as the larger schools, but some community activities are offered in the area to make up for this. In my opinion, the principal & majority of the teachers are caring, compassionate, and well qualified. The teachers in the lower grades are wonderful - making each day a positive experience where the students want to come to school and are eager to learn. The major downfall is that this school is part of the Union Parish School District. The school board and superintendent of the parish tend to gravitate all of their energy to the Farmerville Schools leaving much room for improvement to Spearsville School & the other schools in the parish. The uncertainty of whether or not Spearsville will be open for the following school year is always in the back of my mind, because any time costs need to be cut, the school board considers closing another school. However, overall Spearsville School is a good school, but I think it could be better if it had the support of the school board, hence stability.
I think SHS is amazing. you actually feel important, like somebody is paying attention to you at SHS. You wouldn't feel that anywere else. I will graduate in 2 years and i don't want to. I love SHS! its the BEST, barnone, in union parish. Its in great shape, Mr. Gray is wonderful, all the teachers are spectacular, and all in all this school is perfect (: I love it!

I am totally pleased with Spearsville High School. From Kindergarten through 12th grde, the teachers care and the principal is wonderful. Mr. Gray has turned the school completely around from where it was when he took over 2 years ago. I am so glad he came. Discipline is stricter now, but I am glad. As a parent, I want my children learning in a safe environment. I think this is the best school in the parish, and I know people who have children in all of the other schools in Union Parish. Spearsville is the best.
Spearsville High is the best, it offers excellent educational opportunities and it has the small family like atmosphere. With the new principal and the new rules students at SHS are the leaders of tomorrow. Compared to the other schools in the Union Parish School District Spearsville is the best in the area!
Spearsville Highschool is plauged with problems, diciplinary at best..... They focus more on dress code than education... Sometimes I wonder if teachers there evn actualky enjoy the carrer path they have chosen.... Sitting biding your time is not teching it's babysiting.. when you send your child off to excell in education think twice about this school...
Oh my Gosh! I love Spearsville High. Its the best school ever! The teachers are great! And because of it being a small school its easy to have one on one with the teachers so we can learn easier. Also, we dont have to put up with snobby 'clicks' like other schools. Everyone here is like family. 09
i am glad my child attends this school. The staff is 100% better than the Junction City School, where my daughter used to attend!
