We are new to the state and looked at numerous areas. We ended up at WFHS based on reviews and a visit and couldn't be happier so far. This school and community have welcomed us with open arms and southern hospitality. We came from a very friendly northern community, but it still took us a couple weeks to figure out these folks were being genuine, and it wasn't fake or an act. I am very happy I chose the St. Francisville area, the school and community have helped make a difficult move for us much more enjoyable. I have one child in elementary and one in high school. We are also very impressed with the community and school spirit, we have never seen so many people attend school open houses and pep rallies, it is very cool!
i love wfhs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)) It's amazing . the sports and education is really great. I am a cheerleader for wfhs and i really am proud and true of our spirit.!!:)
My son came to WFHS during Katrina and was welcomed in. Both of my children attended a small Catholic school previously and received an excellent education. We stayed in St. Francisville because of the schools and it was a great decision. West Feliciana provides a wonderful, disciplined and diverse environment which produces well rounded, educated students.
Overrated. Too many related teachers, too many alumni coming back to teach. Needs new blood. Pitiful music program. Students discouraged from taking foreign language in 9th grade. Result: unable to get 4 years of a foreign language. Uneducated teachers. Arrogant administration. Poor communication with parents. Ridiculous trips to Europe - students encouraged to raise money to send themselves by begging on the streets. My child is not allowed to beg. We couldn't afford the trip. So she spent the year watching the kids who did go raise money by selling candy to other kids IN CLASS. Teacher gets free trip annually to exotic places. Bond election for millions to improve school did little. School is filthy. School uniforms? Joke. No, it's actually just a dress code that also specifies COLORS to wear. Real uniforms would be great, but a color-restrictive dress code makes it more difficult and expensive to dress.
This school is one of the best in the state with soaring academics and sports programs. It helped me to test out of a sem of college english and to grow as a person and a student. It is a small school leading to huge opportunites.
West Feliciana is a wonderful school to attend. Students are very accepting of one another and are always interacting. Sports and other academic interests are encouraged and all students have the same opportunities. With its diverse student body, helpful teachers, and focus on academic success, West Feliciana is a high school dedicated to preparing its students for the future.
This school is hyped up more than what it seems. Lets just say, money goes a long way when trying to get what you want.
I was the first graduate of what was at that time the 'new school'. WFHS is an excellent, clean, safe school. The teachers are wonderful and most helpful. If you want a private school setting within a public school - then WFHS is your best choice. They wear uniforms and respect is on the top of the list. There is no undue stress placed on the students. Everyone performs to the best of their ability and are recognized for such. The administration is a group of people that provide service and are a pleasure to work with.
