My child is doing well in the school. I like the small class size. The only bad side so far is they will not let 3rd-5th graders participate in recess. They make the students sit on a bench during recess. These kids need to run around and express their energy. Instead they get frustrated and turn their anger/energy towards the other kids.

Read in the local paper that St. Martin Parish School Board has decided to extend the boundaries of Catahoula's school district towards St. Martinville (LA96) until St. John Rd. area due to declining enrollment & currently the 2nd smallest school district within the parish. Well school board officials I say, "too little too late". You may want to research on why parents that were willing to assure that not only their children succeeded but the school did too are sending their kids elsewhere.

Catahoula Elementary School The principal of this school is more interested in uniforms than the success of this school. She refuses to protect the children being bullied. Having had 10 children attending this school from 1978 to 2013, I can attest to the decline of this school. I believe it is directly attributed to the principal's lack of proper leadership and the attention to safety and good values.

This is a school in decline. The principal refuses to meaningfully discipline students. Bullying, teasing, hitting, and disrespect of school personnel are major problems. The glory days of this school have passed.
