I attended ED White as well as two other high schools in the state of Louisiana, and I learned a lot more at ED White than at a blue ribbon school. The only downfall of the school islack of varied upper level courses. But, I valued my education at ED White, and everyone I know that has gone on to college said ED White prepared them for college, and some even said that college is easier than ED White. I was also invited to be on several sports teams even though I had never played sports, and I thank my coaches for that opportunity. And if you are interested in band, it takes a lot of hard work, but with the awards the band will win, you know your hard work didn't go by unnoticed.

As a parent of two students at EDW, I can testify that this school provides a safe environment and able academic atmosphere for learning and socialization. There have been dramatic improvements in the school over the last five years in every sense. The administration is pro-active and the staff is ever helpful. While the school is not for liberal thinkers who love a lack of control and direction, it is a school for those who want a structured environment of learning and living.

I am not I parent, but I attended this school for three years. This is not a good school for independent thinkers or for people, who value their individuality. Some of the teachers were good and willing to help, but to my dismay many were not. The administration was also very invasive and became involved in personal issues that should not have concerned them. However, when some students needed to be disciplined or did something wrong depending on who they were, the matter was overlooked. I do not recommend this school. It had little impact on my academic and personal success.
