WSHS is the best school in the state. Teachers are supportive of the outstanding programs in place, and the community is wonderful. The school tries to meet the individual needs of all students by implementing new and innovative programs funded by grants. The students for the most part are respectful and goal oriented. WSHS is a safe place to learn with few incidents of a serious nature. Students who schedule the rigorous Core 4 curriculum have no problem transitioning to the college or career setting following graduation.
Winnfield Senior High School is like a family. Everyone is so close knit and the teachers and staff members really care. Everyone knows your name and they make you feel important.
WSHS has been a wonderful school for years. The principal and teachers take a personal interest in the students. They offer them encouragement, support, and a listening ear. I am so thankful that my daughter has such wonderful role models working with her each day. They have encouraged her to go above and beyond and to never back down from a challenge. The faculty and staff have motivated her to want to maintain her 4.0 GPA. I am so glad that my daughter is receiving her education from WSHS because I know without a doubt that she will be well-prepared for college and her future. Thanks teachers, Dr. Griffin, and staff for all you do for your students.
WSHS is one of the most outstanding schools in North Louisiana, if not the entire state! Adminitrators, teachers, and students all work together in setting goals and then achieving them. The athletic department is second to none! Men's and Women's sports both compete at a level that is equal to or exceeds any program in the state. The facilities are fabulous. The softball team is about to complete construction on a state-of-the-art fieldhouse, and the playing field itself is as fine as any in the state. Kudos to the staff of WSHS, and keep up the tremendous work!
The best schools in the nation are those in which you can aproach teachers with your problems, and they will converse with you. Truly this is a great school!
I love teaching here! The atmosphere is great, the students are excellent and my fellow teachers are awesome!
I think that WSHS is doing a great job preparing my child for college and her future.
This school is recognized by the state as one of the best schools in Lousiana. Students do well on ACT, Leap, and other standardized tests due to the dedication of the teachers not only at the high school but at the feeder schools as well. This school continues to set the stadard for not only the Winn Parish school system but also for the surrounding parishes as well.
Most of the teachers don't want to be there so they have a horrible attitude!! It was a good school once upon a time.
Winnfield Senior High School is one of the best around! The teachers are well-qualified and care about the students and care that they learn. The extra-curricular activities available to students give everyone a choice to participate. Several of the organizations perform exceptionally and are recognized statewide. Our athletics program gives the students an opportunity to participate in competitive sports. Overall, the school should be commended on its outstanding work.
