All Saints Catholic School

One of the other reviews was flawed in its facts, unfortunately. The principal did indeed leave in 2010, but it was not because of the math teacher (whom, by the way, I think does an excellent job--he tries to prepare the kids for high school, and so is rigorous and does not coddle them at all). Her husband accepted a job in Arkansas, and so she left for that reason; she is now working as a principal there. I think it's an excellent school with a very caring environment. I know that for children with some psychological/emotional problems, they are both experienced and caring, although I can't speak to the reviewer's concerns about Asperger's.

Going to All Saints has a safe enviroment for children who have or are being teased. However, it is not a school for everyone. My brother and several other children who I knew where sadly asked to leave or forced to leave. The reason for this is that they all had Aspergers or Attention problems which caused conflict in classrooms and with teachers. When I graduated, a math teacher who had publicly humilated me and serveral other students was still working there. In 2010, the princple who had hired him and refused to hear/see that many students in my year and others left because of that math teacher, retired. If you are considering this school, K-4 is good education and safe enviroment. Yet, once your child reaches 5th, I suggest you reconsider based on the math teacher who only teaches Middle school. Hopefully, they will find another teacher soon.

All Saints is a top notch Catholic School. Friendly and caring staff that set high expectations for our kids. I would recommend this school to anyone. Kids win many academic awards each and every year at the state level and at the national level. I wish my kids could stay here forever!

I have had children in this school since 1999 and it has consistently remained an excellent institution of learning throughout. Because we live at a great distance from the school and have to commute, we took 5 years off when my daughter was in 3rd-7th grade. I've been so impressed at how the teachers, students and administrators welcomed us back with open arms, and am delighted to say that she is having a fantastic 8th grade year. Remarkable that most of the incredibly dedicated, spirited, wonderful teachers who taught my son 10 years earlier are still at the school! Our five years away at another private school showed us how academically superior A.S.C.S. is by comparison. I'm amazed at how beautifully the school is run, from the academic to the religious side. The year just flies by. We are so blessed to have one last year at A.S.C.S.

After reading reviews about the school, we almost didn't send our child. However, I am glad that we decided to take the tour and eventually enrolled. Our daughter loves going to school here. Her teacher is amazing--the academics are challenging without being developmentally inappropriate. And how can I argue with an education where my daughter comes home and creates a chore chart for herself and younger siblings so that they can "honor" their mother by helping her out. I am one happy camper!!

While All Saints' mission is very good for the students, the low pay for the teachers is reflected in their quality. Several teachers are retirees that wanted to keep teaching and they are great. There are however, a few teachers that probably couldn't get a job at a public school and were hired by All Saints. There is a good reason why. Their attitudes, teaching quality and ability to reach the students is deplorable. Several parents have recently transferred their children from the school due to the problem with a math teacher. Several parents have voiced their dissatisfaction to the principal but nothing has been done. The principal seems to want to keep her head in the sand and deny that there is a serious problem. If you want to get the truth about the quality of the school, talk to one of the students not the principal.

I feel that there could be better leadership in the upper administration. Children learn from examples and there needs to be a strong consistent roll model in those positions. The educational curriculum, teachers and their classroom supports are excellent on most levels. The religious education and the protective enviroment are a plus.

My children have been to several Catholic schools in different states, due to relocations through my husband's job. All Saints ranks at the top for our family. My children are getting a great education but just as importantly, are receiving the moral, ethical, and faith-filled education that is not present in public school. I am so proud of the people my two children are becoming, and I have All Saints to thank for their contribution to that. Regret terribly here's no Catholic HS to go on to.

All Saints is a fabulous school. We are fortunate to have a Catholic School that is so different from the public schools in what it can teach. The academics are very strong (high school teachers have raved about all that my older child and her friends know and can do as a result of attending All Saints,) and the spiritual growth the children experience is exceptional. Tuition is remarkably reasonable because of a good balance between enrollment and parish support. Bangor is blessed to have this opportunity for our children!

I really enjoy this school! The kids love it! They spend alot of one on one time and concentration with the children. We have one child in 1st grade and one child in pre-K. I think this is a great school. I wish I had this kind of education when I was growing up. Thank you, Heather P.

All Saints offers education the way it should be -- very caring and talented teachers and administrators who inspire the kids. A great PTO, too.

Several years ago I would have given this school at least 4 stars, but as of late I feel the quality of education is slipping and continues to do so. The principal seems more concerned with increasing student numbers than with quality education for all. I give this school a generous 3 stars because although it is falling away fast from being a great school, there are still a few staff members that I think are wonderful.
