John Bapst will forever be a treasure to me. I transferred at the end of my junior year. The reason for this was because I had become disengaded with the style of teaching. Yet, My sister stayed all four years. In my new school, I was miles away from my peers and had wonderful writitng and science skills. John Bapst did prepare me for college yet, it wanted me to become more like my sister who was honor society, AP Bio student, etc. I was not like that and still am not. John Bapst is styled for a certain person who likes to not only be challenged but competitive also. It is a wonderful school and I would still suggest it to anyone who is looking for a challenging school.

Before JBM is very good, it is great! except the school is very small. But then it got WAY too many international students and they talk their language everywhere all the time.

John Bapst is a great school for any student who wants to be challenged academically, who wants to participate on exceptional athletic teams, and who wants multiple opportunities for involvement in the arts, clubs, and academic teams. At John Bapst, it's cool to be smart, athletic, and artistic.

I really enjoy this school. The atmosphere is wonderful and there's a great sense of community. There is always people in the building either studying or having fun and the teachers have a great balance of connecting with us and getting work done. It really prepares us well with many academic challenges.

We feel fortunate to have had school choice and have our son attend JBMHS. Bapst fosters learning and achieving above everything else. Extra-curricular activities are abundant and provide for a well-rounded student.

My youngest son went to John Bapst and it turned his life around. He became a very good student. he is respectful and motivated, and is now at UMO and will be joining the Air Force Reserves this summer. The teachers are a blessing, the activities and sports are great, and he didn't even mind the dress code. He respects himself and others...I couldn't have asked for a better high school environment!!

As a former student, I transferred to John Bapst and was amazed how much better everything was. The staff, the students, the quality of education. I was there briefly, but greatly miss them all. They are a model for every school. If I ever have kids, that's where they're going.

I'm a freshman and I already think this is a great school. close to all the teachers are cool, and just normal people not 100%of the time teachers

Most excellent school! My son did very well there, and I was very impressed with the respect he had for his professors, and how well he did in his classes. he will attending UMO this fall and I couldn't be more proud. He even liked the dress code, it taught him to have pride in himself, as he wanted to look more respectful. I thank John Bapst for helping me raise a wonderful young man.

I recently graduated from John Bapst and now attend college. I never realized how different John Bapst was in comparison with other educational systems until I came to college, where my professors seem to teach sloppily and illogically compared to my educators at John Bapst, and many of my peers seem to be lacking academically compared to my high school classmates. The students respect their teachers and the teachers respect their students and are willing to help each student until he/she succeeds. Also, at Bapst it's cool to be involved in everything; cliques and fights are virtually non-existent because the students who are star atheletes are the same ones playing an instrument or acting on stage. John Bapst gives students the workload they need in order to prepare them for the best colleges out there, and it may seem like a lot of hard work, but it's definitely worth it!

I'm a sophomore at Bapst and I love it. All the teachers care and are there to help. I made so many new friends my freshman year and they've helped me grow. It's a great place to go to school and get ready for college. It's hard to practice for sports but it's worth it. I know that I'm getting the education I need to succeed. I get a lot of homework, but it's not too much to deal with; it's highschool, what do you expect? I wouldn't want to go to any other school!

My two daughters attended JB and graduated recently. They both went on to college (one currently and senior and another freshman). They both remarked how easy college was after attending JB. The papers they wrote were graded highly and the profs. were impressed with their abilities. The same comments for math courses. I guess what I'm saying is that JB prepared them very well in academic areas but also gave them the tools to accomplish their goals. Awesome teachers that really cared about the students.

My child loves this school! It's respected as a place where college preparation is the first priority and extracurricular activities follow. There is a beautiful hall for concerts and dances, but no fields or gym for sports, which hampers those programs (they do have an old 'dungeon-style' gym which is barely functional). If you wish to see a first rate high school concert I highly recommend this school. If your child is an athlete, be prepared to run them all over the city to borrowed arenas and fields. The teachers and staff are very good overall. We found a few teachers that are unimaginative and prickly. But they're from an era that has passed them by and will be gone soon enough. The best thing about Bapst is the tolerance the students show for one another. It's a great atmosphere in which to learn. The best of area high schools.

Wonderful school! Both my daughters are new this year - freshman and sophomore. They absolutely love it. They love their teachers who they describe as fun and enthusiastic. They get a lot of homework, but do not feel overwhelmed, and are excited about how much they are learning. They tell me that all the adults at the school are extremely friendly. The rules are strict, but they appreciate the structure. My oldest daughter saw many fights at her previous High School, and is so glad that she does not have to deal with that here. They love being in an atomosphere where all the kids are planning on going on to college, and are taking their studies seriously. There are times built into the schedule, before and after school, when teachers are available to students for extra help. Sports do not start until 3:00 so kids have tome to get help!

John Bapst is an outstanding school that has changed my son's life. He is only a freshman there and loves it. It's a great college preparatory school. I love John Bapst. Go Crusaders!

John Bapst is an excellent alternative to public education in Bangor. Surrounding your child with other students who are also preparing for college offers a tremendous advantage to him or her. Everything is offered at Bapst--great fine arts and music, more sports than at any high school in the area, and activities for every interest. The academics are outstanding. My child is able to excel because of the caring faculty and other kids who want to succeed.

This high school did an excellent job of preparing both my son and daughter for their college experiences. Adaption to college life was easy and their achievements have been higher than one could imagine.

My child attended this school for three years. At first, it was a good match for her, but in her junior year it became a poor match, as she changed, becoming more freethinking and creative. This school is a relic of an earlier type of educational system, and above all, seeks conformity in its students.

This is a great high school that is small enough to tend to every students need. With classes that challenge as well as inform the child.

Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
