My son has been a top marathon runner, pursuer of his responsibilities as a father and husband, even though he and his wife experienced--along with too many--in the 1980's the shock and losses of being in the banking and media businesses respectively and having approximately half of their rather large income taken away. They are surviving and managing well, both in new positions.
The experience I had as a parent with Gould was that whenever any matter involving problems, academic or other, arose, my son and I were ably assisted and collaboration was there to make plans in his best interests. He is now an exemplary husband and parent, continuing to be a helpful, caring, supportive son to me in my 80's!
My son, David George Flautt, a graduate of Gould, was well-educated and well-served in his personal development in the somewhat stormy nineteen seventies. I had very good memories of Gould myself, having stayed in their dormitories on several occasions as a fellow of the NTL Institute of Washington D.C. which contracted for space there in the summer months. It is a beautiful school in the small New England town of Bethel ME with well-prepared and congenial, capable staff and faculty in as ideal a setting for adolescent education and development as one can find.
