BMS has some great teachers, the administartion does not listen or disapline students, and most students feel bullyed, it continues to go down on test scores because of the environment created by the administration and the lack of consequences. 2009-2010 it failed to make adequate yearly progress and is now being monitored. Test scores will not change until the students feel safe from harrassment by both staff and students. Many teachers or staff discuss you child with other parents against privacy acts.

My son has had an excellent education in the Bucksport school system. He has held all A's and has loved his teachers. BMS has a bully prevention program, many extracurricular activities and teachers that care. If I have a problem with anything I email a teacher or the principal directly and they respond quickly. His new english teacher sends out an email occasionally just to keep parents up to date on thier child's progress. The principal is like a captain of a ship and is so approachable that the kids interact with him often.
