I am a parent of a child that attends Carmel Elementary School. My experiences and interactions with the staff have shown me that there are several wonderful teachers that make going to that school worth it. There are also several teachers that are horrible. The lack of teaching skills are evident and the 'management' is aware of them yet nothing is done to correct the situation. Its sad because this small school out in the country could be a real gem of a school.
Our four children have attended Carmel Elementary School. We have the greatest admiration for the principle Candy Devlin, and the wonderful staff she leads. The environment created by this wonderful team is creative, cheerful, and inspiring. Candy's leadership has fostered strong community ties, a positive outlook, and a sense of family. This same leadership encourages and motivates the staff to develop deep seated values of caring and concern for our children. We cannot say enough about the quality and value this school lends to our community. Peter & Bambi Pelletier
I am not a parent to anyone of this school but a former student. I am now 13 and attened Caravel Middle School. But Carmel Elementary was a fun and we learned alot. It's a small town school with great teachers. I wouldn't have picked anywhere else to go. If you need whelp they go out of their way to help.
The current principal, Mrs. Candace Devlin has helped our child by facilitating a P.E.T., working closely with us ( the parents ) and an outside counselor as well as the in house social worker to provide the most support possible. Open communication between teacher, parents & principal has been key to our current success thusfar. The feelings of ' being heard ' is very important to our family. Both our sons are comfortable verbalizing their opinions and feelings about social, emotional and educational issues with their primary teacher as well as the principal. The concept presently being applied has reversed our opinion of the Carmel Elementary School as a whole in a positive light.
