Cherryfield Elementary is a special school - it's what small schools in small towns should aspire towards. The caring support of a competent staff ensures that every child is accounted for. This small school uses a team approach ensure that every student progresses whatever their learning and behavioral difficulties. Teachers reinforce the positive for students not in their classroom so that all 100 children get consistent intellectual and social nurturing. This school has scored # 1 in the State MEA's, earned a Federal Title 1 Distinguished School Award and scores consistently in the top 5 for MEA's. It has sent two teams to the Global Destination Imagination competition after winning State prizes. Parents and community have demonstrated their support by voting to raise significant extra funding to keep the school open and even marched to Augusta in support of their small school. A grandparent who has served as a parent.
