I attened Schenck and i am a junior this year. I came here last year from one of the best schools in Wake County North Carolina. When I came here it seemed like i had taken much of the courses. Everything seemed dumbed down a bit and too easy. If your child does not do well with rumors or drama DON'T send them here. The schools' population decreases each year, this year this less then 200 kids in the school. But there is a lot of school spirit. Our athletics department isn't the best. We have a few good athletes, but not many. A cheerleading team that, once the senior cheerleaders are gone this year will be nothing. And no football team. Also the economy in the district is little to no good. There is barely work here. I recomend not moving here. The new principal was the head bus driver.

I love this school so much, I am a senior this year and I will be very proud to be able to say that I have graduated from Schenck High School! This year we got a new principal and is doing a great job at it.

As a fairly new resident of East Millinocket and the parent of a freshman entering Schenck this school year (2003-2004) I was disappointed to learn that the school does not have an open house prior to the start of school. In previous areas, we have always attended open house before the start of school. I find it helpful to tour the school, meet teachers, discuss the curriculum, etc. Much can be gained from an open house prior to the start of school. It is also an excellent opportunity for the school to solicit support from parents in many areas.
