Part of the children's work involves building the "will". This is the drive to do the work that is needed. It is a valuable life skill.

With emphasis placed on creative play, enjoying the out of doors and celebrating the imagination - this is a wonderful environment for children to learn and blossom. Seacoast Waldorf School provides a true liberal arts approach to education. My 1st and 3rd graders learn artistic techniques that are used to create their own learning books for math, reading, writing, and science. Teachers teach using proven multi-sensory strategies to bring academics to life without the use of worksheets. Not to mention, both of my children are learning the language and the culture of German and Spanish. My 1st grader will be playing the pentatonic flute and my 3rd grader is learning the violin. Both enjoy weekly practical arts classes, such as, knitting, modeling, and woodworking. They are so proud of what they create with their hands and what they create is beautiful. Academics, art, music, German, Spanish and they still have time to play outside at least 1 hour a day! I am so proud to have found this school for my children.

The Seacoast Waldorf School is a group of very dedicated professionals and parents who truly believe in the beauty of Waldorf Education. My children have been through the school up to 5th grade and their success at the school and beyond can be measured through what they experienced every day there. From the consistency of shaking hands and looking at the teacher right in the eyes every morning, to the emphasis on love of learning through doing, to being outside everyday no matter what the weather to experience nature and group cooperation, to the reverence for ritual everyday in the classrooms through blessings, to the beauty of recitation, handwriting, and singing. This is truly a renaissance education. Arts, science, and math all taught in a loving, calm, manner with a well thought out rigor that any teacher could appreciate. I love it all!

I have never met a more passionate group of teachers. Each morning they greet students, shake hands and make eye contact. They are genuinely devoted to their academic success and devise fun, interactive lessons. Kids are excited to come to school. This positive experience creates a lifelong love of learning. This school prepares children for a future we cannot predict by covering all learning styles; visual, auditory & kinesthetic plus creativity is included in every lesson - math, science, reading, writing and of course art & music. This promotes critical and original thinking, advanced problem solving skills, clear self-expression and strong self confidence. Also, multicultural study topics range from ancient Hebrew Sukkah dwellings to Celtic Saints to African lullabies. Also, awareness of the environment is present every day. Students spend each day outdoors enjoying a five acre wooded campus, working in the farm classroom and taking nature hikes. Students also learn two foreign languages beginning at age six. These just a few of the reasons I have chosen to enroll my children at Seacoast Waldorf School and highly recommend every parent to consider it.

My daughter has been at Seacoast Waldorf School for three years now, beginning with pre-school and now in the 1st grade. What an amazing place where kids can just be kids. No monotonous worksheets or forced letter writing. These kids experience two languages and playing an instrument as early as the 1st grade. They are outdoors playing - and this is where the "learning" is hidden! Math, science, coordination and a blend of auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning. No programs are ever "cut" at a Waldorf school and my child will never be bored here! Her language is rich, her ability to recall information is flawless, her desire to be outside and appreciation for nature is beautiful. And, most important to me, she is a gentle, kind and loving little girl. The education is natural and the teachers are warm and nurturing. For my family, a Waldorf education has truly been an extension of the home. Our family has gotten away from watching tv and trying to always figure our how to have fun. Fun is now baking. It's playing in the tree in front of our house. It's being bored and using her imagination! I can't say enough about this school or Waldorf eduction in general.

We recently enrolled our 2 year old daughter in the Early Childhood Education program here and we are very happy. The class sizes are small and there is so much individual attention given to each student, including a home visit in the beginning of the year to help with the transition. I love that my daughter is able to spend so much time playing outside (they have a huge beautiful fenced in yard). The classrooms in the new facility are beautiful and very home-like. All of the toys and furniture are made from natural products like wood and wool. My daughter loves all of the teachers, even from the upper grades, and talks non-stop about her time at school when she is at home! The other thing that works really well with our schedules is the different school days offered - early drop-off (7:15 a.m.) extended days (3:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.). This school is a real community, with lots of parent involvement opportunities and so many friendly faces greeting you in the morning. I strongly recommend it!!!

The loving, home-like environment has helped my 3 year old blossom. She is eager to help at home with practical skills she learns at school. I love how much creative play is encouraged, especially outside.
