Your experience will be dependent solely on the teacher you receive. If you have a G&T child they don't begin testing until 3rd grade and most are not certified in best teaching practices for G&T kids. If you get the wrong teacher personality your child will be unchallenged, unhappy and pegged a problem. Advocacy is met with arrogance, defensiveness and lack of accountability by administrators. If you have a bright, social child pray you get a teacher with a warm, patient personality. Principal is a personable person but out of touch with what is going on at the classroom level. Counselor good w/kids awful w/follow up. Green new building and facilities, dedicated specials teachers and awesome over qualified para pros. Our first year at FES was a beautiful experience anchored in trust and respect with our child's teacher. Our second years experience was a nightmare all due to severe personality conflicts and a teaching style not at all good for our child. FES send your teachers to continuing ed classes where they can learn best practices in how to teach hyper smart kids and how to adapt your discipline programs properly to encourage them to remain happy, healthy engaged students.
