Fort Fairfield school is AWEFUL, especially the high school. Either you have to have a 'certain' last name or really really smart to make it. Most of the teachers are just there for a job. They are so excited to 'help' your child at the first of the school year, however by the middle they don't care. My children have been going to this school since kindergarden. I also step in an help my children as much as possible, however parents can only do so much especially if you work outside of the home. It's the teacher's job to 'teach' our children with the help and support of the parents. My youngest is now a junior in high school and can't read cursive, tell time and his math skills are aweful! What's that tell you about the school? My child doesn't have a learning disorder either.
Most of the teachers are good and actually concerned with how the students are doing in their acedemics.The administration however needs to be replaced with thoose who will be concerned with how the students are doing and not how they look publicly.
The level of parent involvement seems to be on the rise. The addition of after-school tutoring and the five o'clock club have given more incentive to students to complete the assignments necessary for learning. The quality of the academic programs mirrors the education of the staff, many have masters degrees. Aside from those parents whose students make learning difficult for others through their disruptive behaviors, many parents tell us that they are very satisfied with the school.
If your child has special needs, do not let them go to this school. The teachers are willing (to some extent) to work with the parents and child, but the administration needs to be changed.
Fort Fairfield Middle School is the worst school I've ever dealt with, the Principal,Teachers, and Staff, are all rude, they think their way is the only way, or no way at all.
fort fairfiel school is not a good school if you have a child with special education needs. If your child has a behavior disorder forget it you just get phone calls telling you how bad your child is and ask you how to fix it.
Most teachers at this school will work with a parent, but if they do not voluntarily do so it is very difficult to obtain assistance from administration in a timely fashion.
