My children attend Walker School, and for the most part I am very happy with the teachers and other staff. It is a small school (pre-k through 5th grade) and everyone knows everyone. The classes are small, and it's not uncommon for kids to be in a multi-grade class. The district is also pushing proficiency based learning, which means kids learn at their own pace. For that reason, you may see kindergarteners reading with 1st graders, or a 2nd grader doing math with older kids (or the reverse). All in all, I think it's a great school.

Walker is a great, rural school. The teachers and ed. techs are professional and truly care about the children. Volunteers are welcomed and help in many different areas of the school. Walker even has a school greenhouse, and grows organic fruit and vegetables for the school's cafeteria.
