As a current student, the past four years here have literally been some of the worst of my life. As an average student, it's very difficult for me to keep up with high class students. This school took my high school career and tossed it out the window.

I am a former student of Stearns and the education I recieved was not as great as it could have been, I was consumed in extra stuff, like show choir, one act, the fall musical, field hockey, jazz band and jazz choir. It was very nice to have so many options around me.

This school is what the students make it, like all schools. In any small town there is going to be politics, like that at stearns. But, what needs to be remembered is that of the student teacher relationships that wouldn't be possible in other schools, or that 12 year olds can safely walk to school. The Positivie attributes of this school greatly out weight it's downfalls. School, like life is what you make of it. Teachers can't teach if the students aren't willing to learn.

I believe that Stearns is an awful school. I went there for three years and there are almost no options, Stearns is also at a low standard for colleges and makes it a lot harder to get into a good college. Parents, as a former student of this school, if you send your kid to this school you are robbing them of a good education

For teachers, Stearns is a great place to work if you love camping, hiking and fishing. The students are the same as many other places I've worked. The school politics are the downside. Many of our best teachers left because of certain...uh...politics. So, with a 5 for pristine beauty and a 1 for shady politics, I give and average of 3.

This school was real hard to get through. The safety is incredibly low.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maine used the Maine High School Assessment (MHSA) to test students in grade 11 in critical reading, math, writing and science.
