Drugs are a huge problem at this school. The school administrators refuse to deal with the drug problem. Drug dogs are not allowed so the kids can feel that the staff trust them. Be care full sending children here

MDI High School is an excellent school. The school has a strong leadership as far a teachers and the principal staff very strong and love the children that go to the school. The academic program that is offered is wonderful, there is so much for the young adults to do.

While this school certainly offers many courses and I was able to graduate and enter the college of my choice, its bias, as well as lack of discipline make it hard for many students. Though MDIHS boasts high college acceptance rates, check out how many students drop out during or after their first year at college. It is a high number.

Really fantastic! MDIHS has unparalleled faculty resources that know both how to teach and how to connect with the student body. The Music/Theatre/Visual Arts program is incredible, without doubt one of the best in Maine. High achieving students get very good treatment at MDI, with a good variety of AP's to choose from and knowledgeable instructors. I'm a current senior and the last four years have been great, no regrets.

MDI HS is one of the very best high schools in Maine. The breadth of programs is at least as good as you'd find in city schools of twice the size. The facilities are good and the teaching staff is excellent.

I used to live in Southwest Harbor and I went to MDIHS, best place ever. I had to move due to coast guard and am now in a city school, which I find to be very different. MDIHS had one on one teachings, and here not so much. I find the teachers at mdihs were the best around. I've been to 17 schools, and mdihs was the best!
