Staff seems to care about the students, but standards for education is way to low. I'm a transfer student, and I can tell that the students of Nokomis aren't learning material at the same pace of other schools. It's disgusting...

I have had two children graduate from Nokomis, and a third that will be a senior next year. The staff is caring, and concerned for each student. They go out of their way to make sure each child is successful. My children have been involved in a board range of activites, and clubs helping them become well rounded adults. My children have had the chance to compete in various ways across the northeast, in Florida and California. The new administration in leading Nokomis into a great place to learn and grow.

I go to Nokomis, and it is by far one of the best schools I have seen. Nokomis has not only an Excellent sports and music dep. but all there other teachers are one of a kind they take the time to teach there students not only in school but also out of school. Nokomis Regional High has so much to offer there students and staff.

As a parent of two children who have earned a diploma from Nokomis, I am confident that the opportunity for a great education is there for students who want to take advantage of it. There is an abundance of quality, caring teachers who go the extra mile for students; there is a wide variety of extracurricular activities so all students can find an area of interest to explore; there is strong educational leadership in the school and the curriculum is rigorous. There is an amazing lack of parental involvement, however, around academic issues. The sports and music booster programs are active and visible, but the communities here seem to have a lackadaisical attitude regarding the academic support that is needed at the school. The School Board of Directors is highly involved and interested in what is best for students; they put in an incredible amount of time to serve.

This is a good school with solid academics and a caring staff. The music program is excellent. Unlike the other review, I believe that the school board is doing a great job protecting a quality education from tax-cutting fanatics in the school district who hate education in general.

I think the quote by Gary Dumoulin is incorrect. Obviously he has an axe to grind about taxes and not educational quality.

Sad 48 is run by an out of control school board who ignore the will of the voters. The budget is swollen by unneccesary programs which the teachers can't seem to live without.Teachers are leaving in large numbers because of instability and the lack of good leadership. It is my opinion that sad 48 should be disbanded and that the interests of the children would be better served if individual towns had their own schools.
