My children went to Marshwood High School and got an excellent, well rounded education. The Principal was caring and concerned. There are loads of activities, sports and clubs to get involved in. It is a beautiful school with a campus and facilities that rival nearby Berwick Academy and it's free! There is excellent bus service for all the students and even the cafeteria food is good! Oh, also they have a first rate auditorium with all the acoustics and professional equipment. Students in 9th and tenth grade get an Apple computer to use for the school year. Excellent school and community.

I went to Marshwood, and the admin there singled me out even though I never did anything wrong. If I reacted to someone bullying me with a simple verbal reaction I'd get punished and they'd get off with a warning. They were always watching everything I didn and only ME. I even got in trouble for wearing three tanktops layerd on eachother but this other girl wearing a single low cut tank got a hello. I mean that place is a prison. It's appauling how much they dnt do anything about the drugs and bullying at that school. I had my life threatened and they didn't do ANYTHING about it. But these are just a few of MY experiences. Idk all of yours.

I think the quality of the administration (including the super) is ruining the reputation of MHS. The administration lives in a bubble and doesn't really acknowledge the public perception of the school. MHS has a HUGE drug problem (identified as much higher than the state average) and the admins are in denial. They are also re-active rather than pro-active. The reputation of the school has dropped since they have taken the helm.

I would love to disagree with the parent who postend on November 16th. I am a student at MHS, and if one wants to take a course that is challenging or different there are quite a few. Our administration does not try to be dictators, they fairly punish kids. The Principal is especially liked for his ways, and it sure is not a country club. He has come up to quite a few students congratulating them on suchs things they do. Students will have a great experience if one looks for it, our school does not disserve a one. Our school may have cliques, but many students are accepting to others. I feel that our high school has gotten a lot better of the years and I am quite happy to be attending.

I was grossly disappointed with this school. It runs on a small town, clique atmosphere and the principal runs the school as though it were his own country club. Also, the big book of courses they pretend to offfer doesn't exist in reality--they offer bare bones courses. This USED to be a good school, but it's rating among college admissions repss has gone down in the last two years. This was the worst experience my kid ever went through, largely due to lack of support by admin.

I love this school. I love the freedom that we have to voice our opinions and feel safe around our peers. I feel that for the most part this is an amazing schools with well educated teachers. Anyone who has a bed review about this school obviously doesn't see the dedication that the students have towards their work and towards extracurricular activities. :)

A truly outstanding school district. Consistently well above average test scores and one of the lowest per pupil spending districts in the state of Maine. Great teacher support and encourages continuing education of fqaculty.
