St. George School is a very good, small school. If you want to know staff, other parents and what is going on with your child's education, all you need do is stop at the school. Or attend one of the many events that take place at the school each year. I went to the school, my children and now my grandson:) NO we do not have a horrible provincial mind set. We have a GREAT SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND LOOKING OUT FOR OUR OWN. The Maine Way!

If your child dosnt fit the mold, or isnt on medication for ADD/ADHD dont bother. It is also very clear which teachers enjoy teaching vs. the ones that just need a paycheck.

I believe the first reviewer of this school is completely wrong. As a student I spent nine years (K-8) at this school, and never encountered a bad teacher. I believe the academics were absolutely fine, in fact, I felt extremely prepared for my high school career. I believe that all 3 principals I had the pleasure of spending time with did their jobs extremely well. I believe the range of arts and music programs is excellent for a school its size, and there were always sports for all the children to play. I love this school, and strongly reccomend it.

This school puts the sad in MSAD. Really, it's quite tragic. There are some devoted, kind teachers, but they are fighting an uphill battle against a distracted ossified principal, few resources, a local populace with few opportunities or aspirations and that horrible provincial mindset that says, 'what was good enough for me is good enough for my kids.' The one bright spot is they have French for all kids. Really a miracle. But the test scores tell it all. If you can avoid it do not send your child here. The high school(s) where your child will eventually go are no better.
