I cannot say enough great things about this school. The entire staff seems to work together as a team and make such an effort to know every parent and child. The level of enthusiasm and energy is very high. The children are continually taught respect for themselves, others and property. They are taught skills to help them be good students, such as how to focus and be in control of their actions. Older children are taught to mentor the younger ones. Everyone knows what is expected of them. The reading/writing program is sensational. It's a new program developed by Columbia University and the authors of the program regularly visit Woodside to train the teachers. As I understand it, last year teachers in grades 3-5 were trained in the program. Next year, it will be K-2's turn. But even though the kindergarten teachers haven't been officially trained, they loved the program so much that they trained themselves over the summer!! That's the kind of dedication to learning you'll find at Woodside.

This is an amazing school for children. The teachers work hard to meet the needs of all children. There are wonderful opportunities for children to get involved in music, art and before school sports. The children come first at Woodside.

It is especially at times like this (February Vacation) when I realize how lucky we are to have Woodside as our school. The Gym Teacher and Principal have set up a group called Woodside One Wheelers, and they started a vacation camp to learn unicycling and juggling and all sorts of other skills that are amazing. This sort thing is the norm at the school. They have great academics, the teachers have high expectations for all, and awesome activities for kids. If you have the option of getting your kid into Woodside, do it!

Woodside is a wonderful school. They believe that every child should be dealt with on a personal basis. They also know that every child learns differently and so they as a school along with the parents work till they find the way that works best for your child. I love it here and all my children will go to this PHENOMINAL place of education.

Woodside is a GREAT school. The teachers are very involved with both the students and the parents. Both the principal and vice principal are involved daily with the students and often know them by name. I have nothing but rave reviews for Woodside elementary school.
